So I stumbled upon it a few nights ago, and I am still trying to understand the perks of using it, anyone care to help me out?

the biggest thing i can think of are the freerolls you can qualify for. i'm pretty sure i just saw a 5k one up for next week. you have to meet the challenges, i've been in a couple freerolls it's not that hard. gl and peace.:)

Yeah, I definitely saw a 8k one, is it accumulation of challenge rewards points that gets you in though?

theres alot of benefits to it...

you learn a good deal of different styles of play from different pros and bankroll management which is really important. they have basically everything you need to learn some decent poker skills

also i only completed one test and i qualified for a $5,000 tournament that plays in 6 days...

And its FREE lol

I haven't gotten into qualifying for the freerolls, although I think they might be good value for the # of entrants. You have to take tests based on the video lessons for those.

The challenges (completing tasks during real money play) pay academy points which are ftp equivalents. I've earned 15k academy points in the past few months, which is $75 value. Can either trade them for ftp 5k at a time or collect 20k to trade for $100 bonus (something that is not offered in the regular ftp store)

I tried a couple of the challenges and got through one of the easy ones but the others I have tried I am finding it impossible to play the way they are requiring. I think the main thing is accumulating points to either play in tournaments or buy things on the web site. I found the advice from the pros is very good but I dont always agree with all the advice.

The Academy teaches solid, basic A-B-C poker. Great stuff.

Everyone who plays at FT should use the Academy. IMO the pre-flop challenge is super easy. I did it 10 times within about a week and got 5k points for it. I traded those 5k points for 5k FT points. It was awesome.

It's a nice bonus to your regular play, like the ironman system, etc.

You like freerolls? You like to learn some poker skills or improve on the ones you have neglected? If yes to either, then the academy is worth taking some time to go thru a the training. It's tempting to just keep playing a game somewhere else but if you take the time of the board to hone your skills, it can only help.

Money

I find that making the money in the freeroles is so difficult at Fulltilt. With the poker academy they let you into tournaments where you don't have to place in the top 1% to make anything.
I won $7.50 for finshing top, I don't know, 500 or so. Of course, they are slowly taking that back now...

The main advantages are the lession and the freerolls. I have played in two of the freerolls, and won money in both of them. You have better odds in the freerolls there then a normal one. theses ones I have never seen more then 2,000 players in one.
