Also got the mail. Just glanced at it but could be helpful to learn how to bluff properly cos if you watch the pros play on full tilt it seems that all they do is bluff!

I also received the same e-mail yesterday and read some of the materials that was posted there. I think it is a great opportunity for beginners to learn poker. Try it and start to learn poker the master"s way.

I got the e-mail yesterday and checked it out. I watched the 14 minute video by Phil Gordon about the top 5 leaks for poker players. The problem I had with the video is that he is talking to beginner level players and then shows examples playing $1/$2 NLHE. Most beginners are not going to be playing $1/$2 online, as they usually don't deposit enough to play there or have the proper BR to play that game. So the tips that he provides during the segment are almost useless to lower stakes players, because you won't get away with most of those moves down there. And if you are rolled to be playing $1/$2 NLHE, I'd hope you'd know not to limp with Aces from EP. It's really ridiculous how that video was put together. Thank goodness it was free.

I also noticed a few of the other videos are for like $15/$30 LO8 and $5/$10 PLO but the content seems to again be based for people who don't normally play those levels.

That's so that they receive the subliminal message that it is normal for new players to play at bigger stakes like that. Full Tilt aren't doing it for philanthropic reasons.

Im just using the academy for the challenges, you get points for completing challenges, I have already racked up a nice amount of points from the challenges but im betting the items in the store will cost a crazy amount of points, oh well. getting points for stuff I already do is not bad maybe ill get something from it so all in all, I like it.

yeah, the challenges thing is pretty cool. it'd be nice if the store items were reasonably priced but even if not, i love the challenges idea. it's like a video game where you have to accomplish certain objectives

Don't you think that a website that asks for your FT username/password should at least be SSL encrypted???

I just stumbled across this the other day. I think it's cool that you can watch the pro and get their thinking on certain situations.. but like what others said I'm not sure if I'm going to actually go through with the challenges and what not.

I think this can also be said for books. When i read a book from Brunson or a book on PLO I am sure they are not talking about the 02/04 limit LO8 that I play but you can assume that if you cant beat 02/04 don;t even bother trying 1/2.

I certainly would say that this alone is not reason enough to not watch these videos.

I do understand your point though caue I have had these same thoughts a lot.

I don't like that its helping to inform my fellow players that they play like crap. The challenges are really jokes b/c 90% of the things in the challenges good players are already doing. Its cool that they are giving away free stuff. I can't wait to see what the items in the store cost.

Just curious as to how many points you guys have racked up so far. I have 800 so far. I bet they aren't releasing the item costs yet because they wanna see how fast people are getting points.

This is great! Thanks for the post, just took my first sitnlearn, did o.k. and while I didn't learn anything new, it did remind me of things that I often forget to implement, so already worth the time! and it's great that your grandfathered into gold status with only 100 lifetime points.

Just opened today. Tell me what you think about that guys.

Question: is it possible to complete all the challenges in a play money mode?
