I am going to be playing in my first Daily Dollar today, and was curious as to how long they usually last? I know the field is large, but do a lot of donkey players weed themselves out pretty quick? Since 1080 get paid I figure I can probably make it to the money, just wondering how long the whole thing would take?

3-4 hours?

The bubble is usually 2-3 hours in. The donks sort themselves out pretty quickly. You do have to make a few hands in order to get to the money. I've seen the whole thing run 5 hours plus.

I have played in this tourney the thing is late register lasts a long time so as the field lessons more come on board and you have to be willing to spend a long time so if your up for that go for it.

I've finished in the 200s, and that took about 5 hours. You can make the money in about 3, but the more patient you are, the deeper you can go. People constantly bust out, even in the later stages.

Is this a freeroll tourney or do you have to pay???

this is a $1 buyin. put in your required posts here. the CC freeroll is the best freeroll out there. you should check the fulltilt academy and look into there freeroll. its pretty good pay out for 1st. also the PPA freerolls as well. what i did was get enough playchips to play the 500k playchip $40 freeroll on fulltilt. the is a thread here somewhere. as for the OP its around 4 hours to make it to the money. not sure how long to win but 7-8 hours i would guess. but as for the money this is they best investment for a $1 IMO. the prize pool is $10k and there isn't that much taken in. only around 8k players get in. so tilt adds around $2k into the prize pool.

As I see the history of "The Daily Dollar" it occasionally take 9 hours to finish.
Today I found the 17:35 - $0.10 - "$1000 Guarantee (rebuy)" - Full Tilt.
I'm not sure if this tournament is daily or it is only for the weekend.

I play the daily dollar on a regular basis.. You are correct in saying it should be easy to at least make the cash. The jazzman is right though-you will have to make a few hands to make the cash but its more than 100% return on investement so its worth it to be pateint.

I've gone deep into the tourney a couple times.
You will be surprised at how many donks still remain at the end. I was coming 8th with 55 people to go and picked up QQ in the small blind. I had just folded AK in the big blind to an allin shove from first position (I think I’m the only player that does that). I was happy to see another big hand in the SB-the button shoved and I was ready to race his mediocre hand. He showed 33 and made a straight. I lasted another two hands and out at 53. I played for over 6 hours. I’ve seen them finish sometimes up to 10 hours (so have that red bull handy).

If you are interested in MTT I’m writing a thread about Harrington on Holdem: the workbook, in the strategy section. Please come and share your wisdom, we can each take turns in winning the daily dollar.

You can also compete for a seat in the Daily Dollar early in the day by spending some FTPs.

The times I've played it has lasted for hours. You better have plenty of time set aside to stay in this one. If nothings pressing it's a great way to spend a few hours just relaxing and watching the cards flip.

the hyper turbo has 7500 ppl, top 100 make it, and you start with 300 chips...its fold/shove the whole way...i've never made it that way. my strategy is to play the 30 cents sng's until the next one puts me at or over a dollar. you can be pretty patient in them, even though they're hyper turbo's too, you can sit in and not do much and most of the field will be gone pretty quick. i played one that lasted right at an hour once, you can expect usually anywhere from 20-40 mins for these things. generally pretty bad, impatient, rushed play is what you can expect from most players.

has anyone played in the ferguson? is this pretty much the late night daily dollar? it only has one satellite that i know of, 2700 turbo freeroll, top 100 get a ticket

In 1400 trying to survive these blinds best hand in this 2.5 hour session has been 77 in which my set got cracked by someone that called a preflop raise with 3-6 and hit their str8 Grrrrrrr

About 6-7 hours

Yeah, I played in this a few months ago and placed 14th. Takes about 6 hours to get to the final table and another hour to finish it.
