Is there anything special about getting the Full Tilt Black Card besides getting access to some new store items?

Off the top of my head (note: I'm nowhere near to qualifying for BC); you earn FTP points at least 2x (and up to 4x) as quickly, depending on what BC tier you're in. You have access to BC Support, which is supposed to be significantly more reliable than FTP's regular support. Best of all, you get an actual, rectangular slab of black metal mailed to you, which is, after all, the "most coveted card in poker". :p

Oh, and I think they may come up with benefits for some live events, but AFAIK these have as of yet to be revealed.

Earning double points (the 500 point level) and the ability to buy cash bonuses with points. BC support has been really fast too.

They have special black card tournaments online Sundays at noon pacific where they add 25 seats to the $216 sunday 750k. It costs 1k ftp to enter so they usually pay out about 35 seats. I finally won a ticket in it yesterday. They also have a satellite with seats added to the sunday brawl at maybe 8am pacific. April 17th is their special wsop main event giveaway of 5 seats. About 2000 players already registered.

For live bonuses they will have a special suite at the Rio for wsop.

Are cash bonuses a better deal than say...buying items with points? Or does it equate to the same amount?

I looked very briefly and it seems like they're comparable at low cash levels. The $50 bonus is 15,000 points - I'll use this as the base conversion rate.

http://store.fulltiltpoker.com/game/store/item/C-HBC
A 1,550 hat - About 7 bucks.
http://store.fulltiltpoker.com/game/store/item/C-FXGN
A 5,850 hat - A little over 25 bucks.
http://store.fulltiltpoker.com/game/store/item/C-BN12
A 2,200 beanie - 10 bucks.

Assuming my math is correct these items are decently priced. 25 dollars is way too much for a hat in my opinion, but the argument could be made that $25 is a reasonable price for a hat. I think the 7 dollar hat is a pretty good deal, but who knows what sort of quality it is. I don't know what these items would cost if you were to pay cash, but the prices seem somewhat decent to me. And remember these prices are calculated assuming a $50 bonus, the items will obviously get cheaper if you figure for higher bonuses.

You need to buy the higher $$ bonuses but unless you play tourneys BC bonuses are the best use of points (once you have the robe). :)

Yeah I don't really play tournaments at all, so I might look into those cash bonuses. So far I've avoided items in the store, because I really don't want to take the MGR hit. I love my rakeback too much.

I would like to get a few simple things like lounge chairs and that weird looking cooler thing (if it even works)...but...meh...maybe I'll just try to get black card and get the bonuses.

Those greedy bastards. Even with the MGR hit you should still come out on top though. Then again that's assuming you are DEFINITELY buying an item. You'll come out even more ahead if you don't buy their stuff haha.

Wow didnt realize we had so many black card members here. I think they could also change the layout of the black card members at the tables. For instance instead of the little box with the avatars being blue make it black and maybe their writing in the box could be red, notice Im not saying chat or id turned red, just something a little different as a reward for playing so much and earning so many points.

If they did this I'd turn it off. Just like I turn off all badges except the "True Player" badge. No need to give any opponent any additional information imo.

Funny, I thought I was the only one doing this:). I noticed many players have all them shut off. I like to appear as donkish as possible most of the time.

I know Full Tilt means well, but I think its pretty sad that you have to have their black card to get somewhat decent response time from support. That really should be standard, not a privilege. Between their support and the recent 3rd party processor issues, I'm a little leery of them right now. Though, I am approved for rake back so its tempting. Hmmm. :)

I agree the support should be standard for everyone.

Well, strategies are present in every site and having a black card is the strategy of FT to give good customer service to their active members.

Hey WV just wondering if you would take a custom avatar if full tilt offered it to you? The pros and a bunch of other high stakes players have them, do you agree with the non pros having custom avatars or do you think it puts them at a disadvantage?

^^^ TBH I think most multi table regs wouldn't even have avatars on.

I'm assuming offered free of charge - you'd have to be pretty insane to pay the price they're asking to have one made.

Either way I don't think I would.
