Can anyone explain to me exactly how teh FT iron man challenge works. Ive tried reading the info on the site about it and im just getting confused... Hopefully someone can explain it ot me better.

First is it based on how many points you accumlate in a month or daily? Ive gone to a page with a little calander on and it shows how much ive earned per day but ive still not qualified for anything?? Ive accumalted 317 points this month, yet no 'medals'? Really confused... What do you have to do to reach each rank.

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

You have to get a certain number of points per day for a certain number of days of the month, so it's both daily and monthly.

If you only played 15 days out of the month, you would need at least 100 points on every single one of those days in order to reach bronze.

Honestly unless your doing it for pride its really not worth it in the long run to do the Iron man Challenge.

Well FTP does base certain bonuses on Iron Man levels. Their mid year bonus which hits next month is this way.

actually it is worth doing the iron man challenge in the long run, you get bonues and also if you earn enough medals you can get cool stuff in the iron man store.

Related question;

Is this only hours played, or if you do well you get more iron man points?

It's all based on rake paid. So easier to do at ring games or high $$ tourneys.

I think I know what you are asking, but not sure. For 500 points you get 2 iron man medals which is not great but ok and for 1000 you get 5 and for every 500 more 5 more. so for example this month i had a day with 3300 points and i got 30 iron medals. Last month I got iron and got 100 iron medals and I could of played the 30k gtd fr but I picked not to so I got additional 100 medals. Also the happy hours help get points faster which makes it easier to get medals

No, happy hour points are not taken into account for the iron man challenge.

As for how worth the challenge is, that's a bit tricky to assess. i think the best value in the ironman store, especially if you have rakeback, is the 26$ token for 140 medals. That makes a medal worth $0.186.

The cheapest way to get bronze, silver, gold or iron are to collect 1000, 1250, 2500 and 5000 FTPs respectively. you typically get around 8 FTPs per $1 of MGR, so that's $125, $156, $312 or $625 of MGR.

if you take the bonus medals, the first month you get respectively 50, 80, 140 or 200 medals for each level. If you keep that level for 13 months, than it gets to be 85, 140, 245, 400 medals. In $, that means $9, $15, $26, $37 for the first month, and $16, $26, $45, $74 after 13 months. That's between 6 and 12% additional rakeback.

Then you have the mid-year bonus of $25, $50, $75 and $100 per month, but those are deducted from your MGR, so they are only worth $18, $36, $55 and $73 respectively. That's another up to 12% additional rakeback.

So if you play exactly for 200 FTP points per day, 25 days a month, month after month, the ironman challenge adds about 24% rakeback to your standard 27%, which makes it 51% in total. Pretty cool. Of course that's ideal conditions which will mostly never happen.
