It seems I do way better on a short table (5 players or less) Than on a full table (9 or 10). Because of this I always log on to tables with 3 or 4 players. I do well and increase my bankroll. The table wil fill up and slowly my bankroll goes down. I am playing limit holdem .50/1.00$ and I am a tight/tight aggresive player.
I dont think I change my strategy. Any suggestions????????

Personally, I like tables with 6-7 people at them. I HATE full-ring games with 10 people, especially when plaing limit. If you pick up a big hand (such as KK or AA) and do what you are supposed to do...RAISE, you still get called by multiple hands. This is NOT what you want to happen. With a huge hand like AA or KK you want to play it heads up or against at the most 2 opponents. WIth so many players at a full-ring game, you are bound to get called with hands like 34 suited and they hit a two-pair, straight, flush, etc.

If you are a loose player, full ring games are more beneficial because you can call a lot of preflop bets and be in large multi-way pots, which is what you want if you like to raise with lets say 22 in first position.

The table selection is mostly based on what your personal preference is. If you like playing in big pots between 5 players...play 10-seat tables, and if you like to play heads-up or against 2 opponents (usually) play the 6 max games...

Thanks Chicibs 1616. That makes a lot of sense. I currently play at Pacific and all their ring games have a 10 player minimum and maximum. I guess I'll have to broaden my horizon and deposit some money somewhere else. I'm thinking of either Full Tilt, Ultimate bet, or Noble. Havent decided which one yet. Full and Noble have a 100% bonus but ultimate looks easier to clear.

I like short handed tables, but they're hard to find at playchips tables.

I don't mind playing at any kind of table, I just adapt to how I need to play.

I love the full table, over the long haul you can play ABC poker and be a big winner.

I think that this because there is more chance of you having a better hand, if you only play good hands, as there is only a few players up against you. Anyway when you are at a 5 handed table, you can playa bit more loos than you normally would becuase you can catch mor whands and there are less people to beat.
