Ok This is absolutley the stragest conversation I have ever had with a poker site live support.

It is lengthy, I would like help understanding this tournament format

Chat session started at 0:13:27
Please be patient while you are being connected with an operator ...
You are now chatting with Ruben
Ruben:Thanks, what can I do for you today?
tim:how come I can not rebuy into the freeroll
Ruben:Which Freeroll Sir?
tim:i have not been able to do a rebuy or addon all four of the freerolls that I played
Ruben:What is it Saying when you try to Rebuy?
tim:it says you cant afford to rebuy at this time
is there a fee to rebuy or add on in the free rolls?
Ruben:Which Freeroll are you in?
Ruben:Some do not have the Option to Rebuy
It should say the Name of the Freeroll
$50 dollar freeroll
tim:I just busted out of the one that sarted at 12:07pm
table #4768409
when i bust out the pop up come and says I cant afford to rebuy
Ruben:They allow you to Rebuy until the First Break
Break is every Hour
tim:it will not allow me to rebuy
with in the 1st hour
Ruben:No after that you will have the Option
tim:a window pops up says you can not afford to rebuy
my only option is close the window
then I leave the table
there is a problem
Ruben:The First Hour already Passed?
tim:I am unable to perform a rebuy
no it has not passed
Ruben:Thats is what im Saying Sir
You need to Wait the First Hour to Pass in order to Rebuy
tim:this was after 6 hands from start of tourny
do you know how to comprehend what you read? cause your answer make no sense
Ruben:They allow you to Rebuy until the First Break
tim:yes i know that
Ruben:Meaning that you can Buy Until the First Hour Passed
tim:yes I should be able to but I can not
there is a problem with you software
Ruben:When the First Break Comes, you will have the Option to Rebuy
tim:I have to wait untill the 1st break to rebuy
Ruben:Yes
Not a Problem with out Software
tim:SO what you are saying is I busted out of the tournament 15 minutes ago but i have to wait for the 1st break to rebuy into the tournament that I busted out of all ready
Ruben:What im Saying is that Freerolls will give you the Option to Rebuy 3 Times
And it will allow you to do it until the First Break
Im seeing on your Account that you were on a $100 Freeroll that already ended
So i do not know to Which Tourney you are trying to Rebuy
tim:$50 freeroll that is running right now'
has been running for 28 min
Ruben:eek:k
You need to Wait until the First Break in order to Rebuy
tim:no that is not correct
Ruben:If im saying this, you will not be able to Rebuy since only 28 mins passed since the Beginning
tim:have you ever play a tournament
Ruben:Yes
Not a Freeroll but Yes
tim:you keep telling me you can untill 1st break and the change and say I have to wait untill the break
Ruben:Yes you need to wait until the First Break comes in order to Rebuy
tim:I should be able to rebuy one my chips reach 0 as long as it is before the 1st break. I should not have to wait until the break to rebuy
Ruben:Need to wait to the First Hour to Pass in order to Rebuy
Well that is how it Works
tim:why does it say unlimited rebuys
Ruben:Remember that you are Playing a Freeroll
Because they are unlimited
But clearly Until the First Break
At the First Break you will have the option
tim:I have been playing poker for over 20 ****n years and never have i seen tournament run the way you are saying this works
Is there someone else there understand how a poker tournament is suppose to work?
Ruben:That is how it Works
In here
tim:so your saying I can rebuy in 25 minutes
Ruben:I see that you never used our Software so you most likely are not used to our Tourneys
tim:cause that is when the tourny takes its first break
Ruben:Correct When the First Break Comes you will have the Option
tim:even though I am not playing in the tourny right now
Ruben:Well if you got out of the Tourney you will not be able
IF you unregister
tim:I lost all of my chips
at the begging of the absoultly ridiculas conversation
THat is is the reason I came to live chat
Ruben:Yes
Of curse
If you want to rebuy is because you lost your Chips
tim:because when i lost my chips is was unable to rebuuy
Ruben:But is Diferent if you Unregister from the Tourney
tim:i did not un register
Ruben:Because you need to Wait until the First Break in Order to Rebuy
If you do it Before it will give you that error message
So at the First Break you will be able to Rebuy
tim:so in 2o min i can rebuy
Ruben:At the First Break
Seems that you got it now
Anything else that i can do for you?
tim:I will stay on here with you untill that time 19 more minutes
Ruben:I can´t stay that longer Sir
tim:untill I can rebuy
Ruben:If there is nothing else that i ca do for you right now
I will need to terminate the Chat
Since there is other People Waiting for Support
tim:Ok I will come back 1 minute before break so you can tell how to rebuy into the tournament
Ruben:Ok, if you are still registered and have the Window of the Tourney Open, you will have the Option to do it
If you close it you are out of the Tourney
Please contact us back again if you have any other Question
tim:eek:k I will keep it open its open right now
Ruben:Ok Great
Thank you For COntacting Support
Chat session has been terminated

The rebuys cost 5 or 10 cents. at the first break there is an option to add on. i think the support guy was confused as to the difference between a rebuy and an add on.

I'm not familiar with the particular tourney, but some that are free to enter, cost a small fee to re-enter. Near the very beginning is where the problem with support occurred. This:

tim:it says you cant afford to rebuy at this time
is there a fee to rebuy or add on in the free rolls?
Ruben:Which Freeroll are you in?

Support never answered if there was a fee, which tim asked clearly. He aksed the name of the freeroll, but I'd bet he forgot to check if there was a fee, because he never gave an answer.

Edit: Also, like someone else said, the support guy clearly doesn't even know the difference in a re-buy and an add-on. He said to wait til after the first hour had passed before you could rebuy.

I would have sent him to go to hell, with such questions about rebuy in a freeroll :)

Both missunderstood the word "rebuy" in that conversation.

You thought "rebuy" meant "more free chips than i already got from the free registration" (for some reason i can't understand why) and he thought "rebuy" meant "add-on"

The bottom line is he asked support very early in the conversation--"is there a fee to rebuy or add on to the freerolls". Support did not answer that question. Support failure, but somewhat understandable. They probably got sidetracked when they checked the parameters of the the tournament due to some communication difficulties.

I misunderstood the word "rebuy"?
Yes I do think the rebuy ment/means more free chips than I already got from the free registration. No where on the tournament info/lobby does it state there is a fee for a rebuy. Also the tournament is described as having unlimited rebuys until end of late registration period which is 1hr. at which point you would have the option to add on for free I would assume cause it does not say that there is charge for that.

Does rebuy mean something other than that?

My point to support was/is that they have a software issue that is not allowing players to rebuy or addon.

In this paticular tournament there were over 400 entries into a free roll it had 38 rebuys and 13 addons. These numbers seem awfully low for a field of that size why would 300+ players at the 1st break not take a free addon. If it is free which I never found out. unless they were not able to make the addon.

I guess what im saying is if they cant run a freeroll correctly. Is is a site that you would feel comfortable about make a deposit on.

I would not ever deposit any funds into this poker site/network.

rebuy in freerolls means you buy more chips with money, so, its not a low number, actually i find 38 rebuys a high number among freerollers.

add ons are never free also, neither is rebuys. So now you know it.

Freerolls means you enter for free... rebuys means you BUY more chips, with money... add-ons the same.

and i don't play very often there, but any other site is the SAME, so don't argue about not depositing in this site because of this.

to give examples:

100k everyday freerols in pokerstars you enter for free and pay 60 cents for a rebuy and also for add-on

in 888 theres a lot of freerolls, 25snap freerolls, chrome freerolls, iron, copper, and others, entry for free and a reBUY for some money.

you missunderstood the word rebuy because when you "buy" you giving something back, in case of online poker tables, money.

Your support was just wrong when you asked if there was a fee and they did not answer right away. But i wonder if you would still argue about it.

good luck at the tables, man! :D

The software was telling you that you couldn't afford to rebuy, how much more simple do you want it. If you cant afford it, it must mean you do not have the funds to rebuy, or if it was a points rebuy the points, all sites I play on always show your balance on the rebuy pop up informing you how much it will cost you if you rebuy.

I am sure if you read the tourney structure in the tourney lobby, it will say there what the cost of a rebuy is.

I haven't heard of any problems with Full Flush, and I know a few people that have withdrawn in a prompt manner

He knew the answer before he asked the question, but the support person was a moron.

It does not say anywhere in the tournament lobby that there is a fee.
