Hello,
This is my first post here, I've been waiting to make one worth posting rather than they HEY GUYS IM ME sorta one. I made a Full Tilt account awhile back and they asked for ID verification, which at the time I thought was silly. I thought this because I had been playing on UB for a long time with a history of deposits and cashes without them ever asking me anything. Anyway, I'm a lot wiser now and do realize this is fairly standard, so I decided to comply. I emailed them and gave them my account name. support@fulltiltpoker.com emailed me back saying to send the pictures/photocopies of documents to security@fulltiltpoker.com, which I did. This has been over 48hrs now and I was curious as to whether or not anyone else had done this before and how long it took. I did make a deposit the day I made my account for whatever that's worth. So I guess my questions are as follows:
How long does this usually take? The only thing I've found was some guy's blog and it took him less than 24hrs.
If they unlock the account do they email you to say so or not?

I did sorta feel bad for not researching the matter more from the get go. I wasn't a good poker player and I had even less knowledge of these procedures due to UB's lack of them. I guess it worked out better because my deposit there is still there and I know a lot more than I did before.

Anyway sorry to make this so long but what have been your experiences with FTP's ID verification process? Thanks for reading this.

Scott

Any idea what prompted them asking? I mean I had to send that stuff when I cashed out the 1st time but not right after my 1st deposit. How did you deposit?

I made my acct then deposited via mastercard right after. I have no idea what prompted it.

I am not sure what conditions prompt them to require that - but 48 hours isn't really very long so I wouldn't be concerned yet. (Especially because it is FT and their customer service response time is horrific most of the time).

You could try sending them a follow up email asking the status of your account verification.
I had to do this with Carbon in order to transfer funds and it only took a few hours.
Good Luck.

Yo man, i use to play underage at full tilt, well i say use, it was only 2 years ago, and they found out, i had to send stuff in, im only coming round to doing it now, because i was happy at my other sites, but yesterday i sent my stuff in, and they have already been verified, so im on full tilt now, if they reply saying your documents, that means your account is open, gl at the tables

You may experience problems with the quality of what you sent in, i didnt, but i know people who have had problems, good luck sir

Thanks for the replies. I'll wait another day or two then shoot over an email. I'll post a reply here with how it turns out.

Been there. FT usually takes longer than most sites to respond even the most basic inquiries, so you can expect them to take them some time reviewing your docs. I remember they replied after about 3 days after I send them.

It's all set finally. My deposit bonus is gone but I don't care much. Maybe I'll write them an email and ask them for it back but it doesn't matter that much. Thanks for your replies and support. You guys rock.

makes sense, they wont give you more time because its your fault for not verifying straight away

i had to verify my account also. I think its mainly a way to protect themselves to see if ur of age and that ur using a credit card that u have access to use properly. i wouldnt worry about it to much cuz once i did they havent asked again or anything and i have deposited again with a different card number.

For many of us 'old timers' its possible we developed a bankroll at FT, or Stars, or w/e via freerolls, and never really thought much about the whole process until we grew those meager funds into something significant.

It was then that we , sometimes shockingly, found out about this verification thing. I had to go thru the verification thing with UB in order to withdraw funds, and even had to deposit a small amount to cement the relationship. Took it out the next week with much of my freeroll built earnings.

The logic behind doing it up front, at the beginning of the online relationship is fair, probably provides enhanced security, and, IMO, is totally reasonable.

Us 'old timers' (sheeeesh!) don't much think about the process anymore.
