Hello,
I had a friend send me twenty bucks the other day for some money he owed me, but he sent the cash to the wrong name. My pokerstars avatar name is Bugaluflew and he sent the 20 to Bugaluflew on FT. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the money back??

You can't get it back unless the person wants to send it to you. Good luck with that though!

Have you tried emailing support and simply supplying th error information. You never know, but it appears highly unlikely.

Ill try to email the game support. The player who had the money sent to them is never on so maybe the game support can see if its a inactive account but I'm not really worried about it. I'll say something here if it works.

The only suggestion i can make is to email support, its worth a shot.

I made a similar mistake around 2 years ago with an event I was running, I sent $50 to an incorrect username. This was on Stars, and I did get refunded the money. If I remember though I was a platinum star at the time.

I think it would be better if your friend that sent the money to email the site and see if he can get the money back to his account, i don't know the sites rules on this but it's worth a try.

I think u are out of luck my friend. Its hard to believe that some 1 would even have a name that close to yours. You could email support but i would probably say you could kiss that $20 good bye

Oh,that is a bad news.I think you cant have the money back. But I think send money only with username is not a safe thing. The poker romms ought to add some veryfying procedure.

luckytvguy, Full Tilt shows the first letter of the recipients town and asks you to confirm, Pokerstars shows the full town and asks you to confirm.

I would say it has nothing to do with you, so you emailing support is a waste of time. Your friend can email support, tell them what happened and see if they will do anything. If the person has already spent the money that they received I would say you are SOL.

They do, at Full Tilt they ask you if the first letter of the city that the person you are sending it to is correct, at poker stars, they ask you if the city name is the same as the person you are sending it to and at UB they ask you for the first name of the person you are sending it to.
The responsibility to make sure it is going to the correct person is up to the sender, and as such IMO the OP is still owed the $20
