FT froze my account. What's your best guess as to why?

Some of you may recall maybe 2 years ago that I had some issues about an ex- creating multiple accounts from my computer, and using my credit card to deposit in several of them. In ALL that time, I had one account (which I had 1 initial deposit). And when they learned (probably from a thread here) of my ex-s multiple accounts they never froze my account one single day.

So today, out of the clear blue sky, I get that dreaded email that my account is frozen, and they want my ID with pic and a recent bill/statement. Not screaming 'they banned me' here. I know the deal. Scan & send them my stuff, and I'm probably good. My concern is this... I've not played for real money there for several months, save 1 CC game, if that. Not even freerolls, nor any win. No attempted withdrawal. So why might I have been targeted for an ID check? Have many people gotten this lately? Or do you think someone has been trying to hack my account, and this for my own safety? Or...??? Thanks!

Geez, I dunno dive, I am sure all is good, just send them the info.
If there is more to it I am sure they will let you know. It might just because you were flagged in the past, or maybe is your ex up to old tricks?(like using your mailing address, etc...)

Pooffy, thanks. No clue, doubt if the idiot would now try anything, but who knows. Just wondering why this happened all of a sudden in the absence of that.

It would most likely be nothing. Im sure you can email them and find out if it is in relation to anything in particular. Knowing ftp, this could take a few days to get back a mostly vague response but it might help somewhat.

Yeah, it's probably nothing, just a random check or some FT dude clearing up a two-year old backlog.

If they thought your account had been 'hacked', they would almost certainly have told you as much, although this being FT support anything is possible.

Ty marg & dorkus. Yeah, already asked them, but along with sending them my ID. We'll see if they reply. Doubtful if I'll learn the real reason why for the sudden inquiry.

Maybe because your accounts have been involved like you say yourself in numerous multiple accounts. They probably have people like yourself flagged on the their system and routinely do check ups on them.

Not sure what the rules are where FTP is licensed, but Stars has begun the process of contacting every player to verify id. (They started with the high stakes players so I'm guessing it'll take them years to get to me lol.)

Anyway, their regulatory agency on the Isle of Man requires id verification. Perhaps FT is having to go through a similar process.

Ramdeebam. Funny you should mention it. This morning I heard from the person that had fraudulantly used my credit card, to tell me his account had also been frozen, and that he read this post here, and wondered if they were related. I have no doubt they ARE related, although the reasons for his frozen accts are multiple players, same household. That's all I know. Since I had filed the complaints a couple years ago, they may have cross-referenced his name and user acct relations/infractions.

At any rate, sent FT my info, and my my acct is good. They said I was never suspected of anything, and of course, they rarely say more. BTW, all their emails were VERY timely, no more than a few hours. Thanks all!

Biz as usual for FTP

I am steamed at FTP myself..I signed up for the very first time through freepokercashbankroll.com for a $50 no deposit bonus..and submitted all the forms and did everything right..so I was playing some freerolls while waiting for my bankroll to be approved and I noticed the "private tab" so I looked and saw that I could go to some sites and sign up and play in their freerolls..so I did and now FTP is trying to say that I was linked to them instead of to the site I initially signed up from and denied my bankroll..sounds like they may be tracking your IP and think that you are the one who set up the other accounts, but as long as their is no fraud on the others I think you'll be fine..but then again, who the heck knows with FTP..I have heard a lot of horror stories about them and since they refused my bankroll, I doubt I will play there much.

I would send them copies of the original e-mails that you sent them years ago, and tell them that you reported this to them years ago and that as far as you know they (FTP) did nothing about it years ago.

Is the one you call "the idiot" a member here, or did he just read this post as a guest?

Yes, a member here, but only joined in the past year. Don't remember all the details when I tried to have FT investigate it years ago. I had several credit cards, and a bank ATM that was also a visa. And by the time I had realized all this happened, I'd probably changed my cards at least twice, didn't know which had been used. And it was too much work to find stuff, as I was somewhat unorganized, so gave up. Anyway, thanks everyone for the advice & support.

They said my account has been fully activated. But not only does my old passwork not work, but the new one they sent to my email does not work either. To be continued I guess.

FT might froze your account if you are using cracked poker software! Also you might be frozed cause you are trying ti cheat with different kind of programs which FTP detects! I don't know, but there could be quite a few reasons!

Maybe they thought you were just to Good and as result were scaring others from playing. Thus, cutting into their profit margins. :D

I know about a friend who had their ftp account frozen at the end of November out of the clear blue. They sent in their ID and confirmed the account and a few days later they were cleared to play. After 2 weeks their account was frozen again.
