Why are the freeroll prize pools so much lower for US players than for players from other countries? I play on fulltilt and the freeroll for US players is only $100 freeroll while I saw today that there is $10,000 prize pool for a freeroll in UK/ireland. What the hell?

Those monster prize pools are usually for some kind of special event, not standard freerolls. The typical freeroll is $100 per country. Look at the bright side ... you could be in the new zealand freeroll ... that prize pool is $40. ...

You'll need to read the specifics for entry in those monster freerolls. There's usually some very good reason - not just rewarding a certain country or region.

Ok thats good to know. I have never seen a freeroll above $100 for the US but then again I usually play in money tournaments and usually dont waste my time playing in freerolls for $1 at the end of 5 hours playing. HAHA :)

Well when I won the UK & Ireland Freeroll at Full Tilt recently I won the princely sum of $15 for coming first, so I would be quite surprised if the total prize money came to $10,000...

When is the FTilt freeroll for US players? I've never seen it listed.

I haven't played it in a while or even looked for it, but if I recall correctly it was daily at about 2100 ET or 2105. Doesn't show on the schedule until a few hours before start time and doesn't have a [register] button. It's like the OFC game was. A line in one of the lobby boxes linked to a website registration so it can check that you actually ARE registered with FT as a U.S. player.

Ya, it shows up just before the registartion opens. It starts at 21:05, and I think the registration opens 40 mins before. And it fills up fast.
I always found it kinda weird that it doesnt show on the list like all of the others. I think it is the only tourney like that.

No the thousand dollar freeroll's for non-US countries are freeroll to freeroll winners. They've won or placed in a previous tournament in order to play the bigger tournament.

ya they usually are for some special thing, but we just cant see what they are
Another thing about the freerolls is they are just too big only 1% of players get paid and you can win as little as $2 it almost makes me wish i was from one of those countries that end up having only 200 people register for there $40 - $100 freeroll

the Monthly UK/ Ireland freeroll is for first time depositors only

You only get one shot....

Managed 15th for $100 which more than doubled my bankroll last month! (up down st flush draw on flop ran into KK when the big prizes were in sight....)

- not sure if there's a depositors freeroll for the US- would probably be seen as encouraging illegal activities over there so maybe not lol

The UK daily is $100 if it makes you feel any better! (usually 1.5k players)

What time it is will depend what time zone you are in of course, but there is one in just under two hours. As already mentioned it pays 63 places, here are some of the details:

Yes, but the problem with the freerolls on Bodog is that if you are trying to play for free you are at a disadvantage against those who add-on and rebuy.

Actually very few people do rebuy, and it is one of the tightest played freerolls I know. A lot of freerolls are donkfests, a lot of rebuy tournaments are donkfests (at least up until the add-on break), so you would expect a rebuy freeroll to be a horrendous donkfest. For some reason that doesn't seem to apply in the Bodog freeroll, possibly because of the relatively high prize money on offer.
