So the past 2 months are so I have been playing around with online poker, just for fun. Then about month ago I heard about freerolls which was good for me because I don't think im ready to deposit money on a site and if I can finish in the money on a freeroll I can start playing a little. Im pretty young, and I play in house games for some decent money all the time but never fooled around with online stuff.

My question is where are the best sites for freerolls? Or where did you guys find success playing in freerolls? I know FTP and PS are by far the most popular sites for online poker, but I can't find freerolls on them hardly anywhere. Maybe im just looking in the wrong place. Sportsbook has 12am (EST) freeroll everyday but its tough, top 24 get money to there account and there are usually about 2500 to 3000 that play in it. I have been trying to finish in the money on a freeroll on Sportsbook because they offer a great deal where if you make any kind of bet on MNF then you can play in a sweet Saturday freeroll where the first 50 to register (had to place a bet on MNF) get to play and I think top 15 or something gets some decent money to there account.

What about Absolute Poker? I got on there software last night, the way I read they have a freeroll at about 1 am (est) where about 200 players get in and if you finish in the top 27 you get over 3000 dollars to your account. Is that true? That was hard to believe but if so I am going to start playing in that one lol. Absolute Poker seems to have freerolls going on all the time.

Every poker site has freerolls but expect huge fields and tiny payouts. ie 15000 people with a $100-$250 total payout.

Its a good way to get used to online poker then you can start playing sit n goes, tournaments or cash games.

You will come to realise the only freerolls that are worth playing are usually first deposit ones or more exclusive ones with less players and higher payouts (earned though affiliates or frequent play).

Fulltilt has freerolls, but most have a field of 7500.. You have to get lucky in these. Even if you play great the only way to cash is to get lucky..

The only public freeroll I will play on full tilt is the free roll to the daily dollar. It's still hard to cash, but it's sup turbo so it doesn't take as long.

You should stay on this site and qualify for the freeroll club, and also sign up for poker curious. They have 4 free rolls ever week, ranging from 50-75 dollars and around 500 play and 50 get money. The payouts aren't that good until the final table, but there are a lot of sit outs, so it's easy to cash.

The other free roll to play is the play chip one. Build your play chips on fulltilt to a few million and play the 500k free roll. Top 18 get 2 dollars, 60-90 play it daily at 8:40 est.

Hi,

Maybe I didn't understand you correctly but it sounds like you said that you placed a bet with sportsbook.coim to qualify for a freeroll. If you are willing and able to deposit money on the site to gamble on football games then why are you worried about deposting to play poker?

Don't get me wrong if you want to play freerolls knock yourself out but I really think you would be better served by making a modest deposit and playing cash games or buy in tournaments.

Good luck

My personal favorite site to play freerolls is bodog if you survive the first hour you can get a pretty decent game and not that hard to cash though I've only done it once

End of 1st hr avg stack 6k about 1100 players 2nd hr 25k 260 players then it plays to bubble which takes another 1.5 hours

And today I played my first full tilt academy freeroll and I cashed I think the payout was like 29% of the field and when it bubbled at 1hr52min the average stack was about 5k chips so this is also an option I went out early due to a suckout that I couldn't recover from with 200 players left until the bubble with 1600 chips I sat out the rest of the game as the blinds were 80/160 so you'll definitely want to check that out and GL whatever you decide

The FTPA 5k is great. Just have to do one 5 minute quiz on the Academy website and get entry to the monthly tournament.

I went through a lot of this but I figured that there is a reasonable amount of freerolls on Pokerstars where there is aorund 1/10 chance of cashing. I like it as a way start and learn, although I found out that playing microcash games is building the money much more time effectively than them anyway. I only play a few in a week and the options there pretty much satisfy me. If nothing then there is always the PSO league with four freerools a day which may be good for understanding the freeroll strategies but the money is insignificant.
Besides that I have experience only with Full Tilt where there are those ridiculous 40 out of 7500 freerolls or the mentioned FTPA 5000 which is excelent but takes place only once a month.

I dont know about other rooms but I guess that if you have registered through some affiliate site, those offer some very good freerolls as well, so it may be worth to do some research before registering.

Gday, Big

I used to have the same problem, finding a freeroll that not only pays well, but, has some good players, and a decent pay table.

To tell ya the truth, there are not many. I found that FT has $150 freerolls running every two hours, the dont pay much, but they can offer a good game, and every penny counts.

My favourite freeroll is the Australian Regional freerolls, PS, has one with a big pay table of 20%. FT, only pays top 27 players, but, last 18 get $2.

I have also had success surfing the private tourney sections on both sites. They can offer up a range of different tourneys.

Thanks for the feedback guys. For the guy that ask the question about Sportsbook: I have not deposit no money to any poker/gambling site yet. The deal they have on Sportsbook is if you make any kind of bet on the MNF game then you can play in really sweet freeroll on the following Sunday. If I finish in the money in a regular freeroll on Sportsbook I can make like a dollar bet on MNF and play in that freeroll.

For the guys that was talking about Pokerstars/FT: I can't find alot freerolls there, mostly play money ones on PS. Or you have to have some kind of ticket or FPP stuff for the PS ones. I have found alot freerolls on FT, but mainly for certain countries only.

Sportsbook offers a 200 dollar freeroll for anybody everyday (midnight EST.) Absolute Poker offers a lot freerolls from what I can tell but mainly just 50 dollar ones. Bodog seems to have some nice freerolls, I really like how there site is setup. I am playing in 3 different freerolls tonight, a 50 dollar one on Absolute Poker, a 500 dollar one on Bodog, and the 200 dollar one on Sportsbook.

I do plan on joining the Freeroll club on here whenever I meet the requirements .

You're best bet are private freerolls on fulltilt. I mentioned some earlier, but there are other that come up every so often. Just keep an eye out for ones that are worthwhile.

I think that there are plenty of good freerolls on PS and FT. PS actually has something called the North American Poker League (NAPL). They have a freeroll every night where you can earn tickets to essentially what is another freeroll. They have a nightly $500 tourney which is pretty easy to cash in (granted it's like twenty cents, so you'll have to go pretty deep to make any significant amount of money).

Also the freeroll to the daily dollar is a good thing to (it's a turbo so you have to get pretty lucky, but still)

Good luck! I'd stick around and learn and participate, and then play in the CC freerolls to if I were you...

poker stars has by far the most free rolls. Right now they are having the NAPL Freeroll Shootout SNG every few minutes. If you win that, you get a ticket to the NAPL USA Rookie League Freeroll etc. You can see all of this by going to Poker Stars/Tourney/Regional. There are also some other free rolls there for various entries to other tournaments.

You can also go to Poker Stars/Tourney/Freerolls and get into some that way.

Full Tilt has some good free rolls as well but not like Poker Stars.

Sports Book has several free rolls starting at 1800 hrs with a PL Omaha, then at 2000 a $500 (US) and then at 0000 another free roll for $500 (US). YOu just have rto scroll down until you find one that says free.

I try (when I have time) to play in a lot of them on all of the sites but especially Poker Stars. Through the Tourney/Freerolls you can win entry to a bigger freeroll ($2000 (US)) I believe.

Full Tilt also has a round one freeroll that you can win entry into a ($1000 (US)) freeroll.

I believe the $ are correct in what I have written but you can check them out for yourself at Poker Stars and Full Tilt. On Full Tilt go to Browse (Tournament)/Favorites (ALL)/holdem/real money/all types then under play money go to freerolls/ftp. Again you will have to scroll until you find them. Scroll down until you see the ones that say announced and keep up with the times.

Click on the tournament that interests you and read all about it to decide if you are interested.

Hope this helped.

Man:
  • Pokerstars/tourneys/regional, This varies for the country but usually there is something for most days
  • pokerstars/tourneys/private, This may be site dependant, some of them are just public promotional(like watch our facebook page and read password for our 500 freeroll) some affiliate site dependant, something like Cardschat freerolls on FTP.
I did not want to repeat it again, I just felt frustrated by the unimaginable fact that you cannot find it :).
By the way, when I registered on FTP I was also looking like an idiot for any freeroll or cash game and just couldnt find it. It turned out that I had installed just the playmoney version of the software(FTP.net instead of FTP.com), so they in fact really werent there :).

Thanks for the feedback guys, I didn't know you went to the regional section on Pokerstars to find freeroll's. I went to the freeroll section and all I could find was play money ones. Im actually playing in the NAPL Nightly 500$ freeroll right now, but all its for is a chance to get into a good freeroll. Im doing real well in it actually, there was 10000 people that got in it, about 3000 left and I still have a good chip stack (got make it 1126 to make it to the better freeroll.)

Also playing on the 200$ Sportsbook one right now, doing alright in it.

Fortunately, I earned over $150 on the Sportsbook website eons ago, when they had $500 freerolls that allowed only 750 entrants. I just make a $5 football bet on the Monday night game. Win or lose, this qualifies you to play in the $2000 MNF freeroll on Saturday. Last week there were about 211 players and the top 45 got paid. Last place paid like $7.57. I did not cash this weekend, but the previous weekend I did win $16, which is just going back into making my slow but steady $5 Monday night football bets in their sportsbook, so I can qualify for their $2000 MNF Saturday poker tourney. The only problem I have is I have to use online help chat to request the password every week. For some reason, the way I bet does not send an email to my email address notifying me of the password for the week.

The FullTilt Poker Academy $5000 monthly freeroll is a good bankroll starter also. Be sure to complete only one Sit-N-Learn a month, so you will be able to enter the most freerolls possible. It makes no sense to complete 10 Sit-N-Learns in 1 month, for 1 entry, when you can instead complete 1 Sit-N-Learn each month for 10 months and be invited to 10 separate $5000 freerolls.

And the Cardschat freeroll club $200 freerolls is a good bankroll starter. There are so few people in some smaller freeroll tourneys(100-300 people), that if you can final table, It can pay just as much as some $1000 freerolls I have monied in. Such as this weekend, I was in a $2000 tourney that paid me $8, well, I played in a $70 freeroll tourney, placed 3rd and it also paid me $8.

I think that fulltilt has good freerolls. Like others have said earlier, the 7500 players make it tough to place in the top 45, but once the all-in donkeys and the sit-outs are eliminated it gets pretty fun. Pokerstars has some decent freerolls, but they're all satellites to paying tournaments
