I've always been a bit wary about these type of things, but i though what the hell lets go for it. I signed up to Titan Poker using a bonus code and the help of a nice website. What do you know, $50 e.g £35 arrives in my new account, so i'm very happy. What i want to know though, is how they pay for this? Is it really legit or am i gonna get shafted in a couple weeks? Do they do it cause i'll be paying rake, and therefore even if i'm good i'll be giving them their money back plus extra? I suppose you can tell i'm still not too sure, but if anyone has answers, maybe they've done this succesfully already, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Oh and one other thing, what's your view on Titan Poker? It seems like a decent place, but appearances can be decieving.

sounds to me like you got a pretty good deal, unfortunately being a resident of the United states, I can't be of much help as to how the current Titan is, but that deal where you sign up and they deposit money into your account, it seems like you may be required to accumulate points before you can cash out that money, which mean that only about 10% of the people who get those deals may actually be able to receive checks and the 90% may get hook in and start depositing which means that over the long run the house will make it all back through rakes and entry fees which the then pass on to thier affiliates as a form of getting more players.

That is just my opinion but when you find out how exactly it works please feel free to make a new post

normally you have a playtrough-requirement to cash out such a no-deposit-bonus. for details the best way is to ask the support of titan... therefor it exists ;)

IMHO you made a big mistake you shoulda used the CardsChat link and gone fot the regular $1000.00 freeroll which gives you the chance to make the same amount and more than the free money you got every month.

No need to be wary....most don't have catches...and ones that do don't last long. They pay for this with the rake accumulated by players who sign up using their link. Many sites have promotional offers to join sites, most are legit, just make sure to read all about it first. Good luck on and off the felts.

Yeah there is a cash out clause, something like 25k hands before you can :S, but it's upto $150, as i can get an extra $100 after i play a certain amount of hands, i think 5 and 10k respectively. I think i'm gonna start playing tomorrow and i'll let you know how it goes. Just out of curiosity, howmuch is first place in the monthly titan freeroll?

Sounds like you may have used the same site that I did to get a free bankroll ($50 immediately + $100 later). It worked out great for me. Here are some tips (at least how it worked from the site that I got my bankroll from, playing at party poker).
  1. I think Party Poker is probably the best place to accept a free bankroll offer like this, because most of their freerolls (and ALL of their good freerolls) are for depositors only.
  2. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: You want to keep your "restricted" balance at $49. You will (at least I did) have two balances, 1 "restricted" (for me it was $49 of the $50 deposited) and one 1 "unrestricted" (which means you can withdraw it at anytime. My original "unrestricted" amount was $1). The "restricted" balance is what you will need to clear, the "unrestricted" balance is yours to keep. Imagine if you have $49 in your "restricted" balance and then sit in a ring game and win $10. That $10 goes immediately into your "unrestricted" balance. Even if your "restricted" balance later falls below $49, that $10 stays "unrestricted" (meaning it is yours to keep. They do not take the $10 out of "unrestricted" status and move it to "restricted"). Also, any freeroll money you win will go into your "unrestricted" account, no matter what your "restricted" balance is. If your "unrestricted" balance had been $25 at the time you played in the ring game, the $10 you won would have been "restricted", as you will have to build your "restricted" balance back to $49 before your cash winnings go into your "unrestricted" balance (this is why it is very important to keep your "restricted" balance at $49).
  3. It is very unlikely that you will clear the points and keep the $49 original dollars. So your goal should be to build your "unrestricted" balance (the money that you will get to keep after they take back the "restricted" $49 or whatever is left of it. Ideally, you will have nothing left "restricted", as you will have to give it back anyways, you might as well play with it until it's gone).
  4. If you are a serious player, do not accept this free money as you will never be able to sign up for a rakeback offer. Over time, a rakeback deal will get you much more than the $50 they give you for free.
I have 21 days left with my "restricted" money (sitting on 54 PP points, I need 300 PP points to keep the "restricted" money ). Currently I have $22.00 "restricted" and $30.00 "unrestricted". So as you can see, I will have 30 bucks (or hopefully more since I still have 22 bucks to wager with) in my bankroll once this promotion is over. It was a lot of work for $30, but it was absolutely risk free!

well the more people the site brings in..the more money they can make from getting paid by advertisements, and most people who get bankrolls just blow their money away anyway...so the website usually benefits from giving out bankrolls

I signed up to the same deal with titan, just for the free cash, I had no intention of sticking with them. Every person I chatted to about it got their bonus with no problems, I recieved an e.mail telling me i'd been selected for additional security checks and that I had to send a copy of my driving license or passport for verification. lol. NO THANKS! Weird because i'd never even logged onto the site before. Thats the kind of thing i'd expect of there was another account user at my address or something. Ah well. Easy come etc.

These sorts of check are quite common, and if you ever need to cash out from a poker site (or online bookmaker) you will probably need to provide that sort of evidence anyway.

I have used in the past a few nodeposit offers I have found in the past, but few of them have amounted to anything.
I did recieve 50.00 free at full tilt no strings attached,as well as 10.00 at ultimate bet,10.00 at absolute, and 10.00 at pitbull to try those sites out.
As far as the ones that offer 150.00 and so on no deposit bonuses I never recieved any of them at all even though I completed the requirments.

Thanks nowuckinfurries, as I say I had no intention of using the site, just clearing the bonus and probably donking it off in the process playing out of my limits! Haha. The e.mail just didn't look right, the way they demanded I post out personal documents to register... hmmm.
Nothing lost anyway.
You mention most poker sites ask for this kind of info the first time you cash out? What about Full Tilt? Granted i've never withdrawn yet, but if I deposit from a debit card can I not just withdraw back onto that, no probs?
I used to play at Ladbrokes and took around 14K out when I left without having to provide this stuff.

neteller has already gotten the documents so a cash out to neteller is the same as providing it to the site, I am sure neteller shares your information, then there is the fact that it is the laws of where the sites are located that require verification.

Outsifde of USA, yes they can credit your card, in the USA you are SOL

If people are reading this and wondering what to do, here are my recommendations:

If you have no real way of depositing money and are looking to make a bankroll to get some quickly needed cash...these bankroll offers are a good way to get instant money to play with.

If you may be able to deposit a small amount, it is better to sign up for a rakeback account, as an earlier poster said, you will make much more in the long run.

Just depends on your financial circumstances
