Could someone please explain to me the difference between FPPs and VPPs?

I have around 1,000 FPPs collected in the last few months. My VPPs seem to count towards clearing my bonus and I'm not sure what the connection with FPPs is.

I know you can play tourneys with them but if you do, does that affect your bonus clearing at all?

And what would you suggest as the best way to spend the FPPs? Should I play tourneys? And if so, which ones would you suggest for someone who dosen't have much experience playing tourneys?

Thanks all! :)

from the site:

What is a VIP Player Point?

VIP Player Points (VPPs) are a counter that is used to measure how much you play in pokerstarsreal money tournaments and ring games. The formula used to compute how many VPPs you earn for playing is described on our Earn page. Every time you earn a VPP, you also earn at least one Frequent Player Point (FPP), but as you advance in the VIP Club, you can earn even more FPPs for more frequent play.

Note that FPPs accrued through other means, do not qualify for VPPs, so do not count towards raising your VIP Club status. Specifically, the following do not accrue VPPs:
You play (and win) a 1,000 FPP satellite that awards a seat into a 10,000 FPP satellite. You choose to unregister from that larger satellite and take the 10,000 FPPs. You can keep and use those FPPs, but you will not also receive more VPPs.
Bonus FPPs that you accrue through the VIP FPP program. For instance, suppose you are a SilverStar VIP. SilverStar members receive an instant 50% FPP bonus. So if you earn 400 VPPs in a week, we give you 200 bonus FPPs. The 200 bonus FPPs we give you do not also get your VPPs.
FPPs that we may give you for completing surveys, etc.

Thanks 9k. Yes, I have seen that but was sort of none the wiser. Ha ha! I am being dim I'm sure.

Does it mean that VPPs can be redeemed for cash but that FPPs cannot? So unless I play tourneys they are pretty useless then...

you earn FPPs when you create rake, depending on what star you are you can earn more VPPs, which are used for stuff.

FPPs is just a way of measuring how much rake you've made.

VPPs are the things that are used for stuff, you can use them for cash but mostly tourney tickets and other stuff.

other way round lol

vpp's are the amount of rake you've paid, and depending on ure status you get a multiplier, i don't know what the exact multipliers are (but the site will say) but for example at supernova you get 3.5 fpp's per vpp, and fpp's are spent in the shop for cash or items, so thats why the higher up you go in the statuses the more rakeback you effectively get

Thanks everyone.:)

Can anyone answer the second part of my question - the best use of FPPs? Are there any recommended tourneys (not too tough) for someone like me to play?

235 sunday storm hyper turbos.

cash in those, change them to T$, get a tourney player to trade with you for like 99% and you have a form of rake back!

PS no rake back, so FPP is some kind of points to cash rake back system.

VPP is directly related to which level u are, meaning that, what is the rate for u to exchange FPP to cash back!

regarding to using FPP,
what's your VPP level?

if below Super Nova, just use FPP to play tourney for T money then sell T money to real money

if you are Super Nova, then, the best way is to exchange FPP to cash....using the VPP store?

Thanks for your reply. I am only at the lowest level so tourney money is the best way for me to go.

Thanks EF - that's exactly what I did. It's a great way to use up FPPs. Of course, you also have to win and with them being hypers there's probably quite a lot of luck involved.
