i really like ace rag suited and when the flop comes over and i am looking at a
flush draw(2 of them in flop n 2 in my hand)what are my chances/odds of making a flush..I realize this is a dangerous hand to play if the pot is raised (chasing the flush go home on bus) is an expression i have heard.
When or is there a right time to chase the flush.Depending on the size of the raise or chipstack(in tournie) do i gamble.
Thx

The real answer to this is "it depends". Limit, no-limit, cash, MTT, SnG? If a tourney, what point in it? What are chips stacks? How aggressive/tight is the table? Etc, etc. there is just to many variables to give a proper answer here.

ok lets say i,m in a cash game no limit 25c/50 is my fav at the moment, and i have 2 clubs in hand and 2 clubs on board and for arguments sake lets assume the table is loose the board show 6c 8c kd i am looking at ac 2c and i know the kd on the board will attract some action.
I can see four clubs that leaves 9 left some in the deck and prob other players have what does relate to in odds/outs.Of course i would fold them in the blink of an eye if a serious bet went in,but there will be times when i have a str8 draw as well as the flush when this happens my chance of hitting an hand must increase..

There is information on this subject here:

https://www.cardschat.com/poker-odds-pot-odds-implied-odds.php

In very rough and ready terms, you have about one chance in three to complete your flush by the river in the situation you describe. You should therefore be content to call a bet of up to one-third of the pot.

This takes no account of the fact that there may be further betting on the turn, nor does it consider implied odds. Read the article at that link for a more detailed insight.

You also need to consider that in your case the 3 aces may be additional outs also. 12 outs is almost 50/50. It gets complicated, every detail counts.

Calculating your odds is VERY easy after the flop. Use the rule of 4 & 2.

If there are 2 cards to come (turn & river), then multiply the number of outs you have by 4, and that's the percentage for making your hand.

For example, you have Ac7c. The flop comes out club, club, king. Your opponent makes a pot sized bet, so you put him on top pair. Thus, your outs are an ace (3 left in the deck), or a club (9 left in the deck is usually a good assumption). So you have 12 outs. Thus, your odds of winning the hand is about 48% (the actual percentage is 44%) if your opponent has a pair of kings. Of course, this rule isn't exact, but it's usually accurate +-5%.

This simple rule works for more than just flush draws. Open ended straight draws (8 outs, 32% chance to hit), ect. all work. If you have 1 card to come, then you simply multiply by 2 instead of 4.

Of course, pot odds come into play. Often times, even if you're a 4:1 dog, you still should call your opponent's bets if there's a ton of money in the pot already.

There are many odds charts out there stating odds for different draws and such, but alot of them are hard to use and confusing.

The best thing you can do is learn to work them out yourself.

In the meantime I personally made odds charts for both the percentage likelihood and X to 1 ratio. I am yet to find a better one on the web.
