i have been a player on ps for almost three years now i refuse to go elsewhere for the simple fact that there site just looks nicer than everyone elses.......but sometimes i question its true "randomness" a random number generator is what dictates the cards right so why does it seem as if when a person deposits there is nothing they can do wrong, anyone who has ever depsited on ps may or may not know what i am talking about but everytime i have ever deposited i have had some seriously good luck, cards, flops, turns, and oh yea rivers. If i am the only one that notices this then it may just be me but i would like to hear someone elses thoughts on this

I use pokerstars and Noble and the frequency of Aces on the flop certainly seems higher on Pokerstars. Also, multiple pocket pair (3-4 people in a hand) also seems higher. A site is only as good as it's random number generator and maybe PS needs to tune theirs...

ps randomness

I agree that poker stars is the best setup too and I never have any trouble with my connection. At times i think there is a high number of pocket pairs, but at other times i think it equals out

I think it is completely random -- it's just due to the fact that you see so many more hands in an online game that it "appears" that more pairs hit. I've also heard that people complain about PS b/c of all the suckouts at the river. But I would attribute those instances to the same randomness and volume of hands being played.

I am a skeptic, as much as I love online poker, there most likely are certain "tweaks" the rooms do. They know someone who loses right away is probably not coming back! Truth is ,we don't know for sure, but I still think that anyone who blindly believes all online poker rooms are totally square is at best misguided.

You have to remember that they have thousands of tables running at one time.

Right now it's 11:15 am on a Saturday morning and there are 3500 active tables going.

With that many hands running, multiple pocket pairs/suck-outs happen simply because of the odds in that many hands.

Most of the hands play out as they "should". I think if you play PS and kept track of how many times certain longshots come through and ALSO kept track of how many times what was "supposed" to happen a large % of the time according to odds actually happened.

You will find that the math gets upheld at the end, even though it might not seem like it. Players tend to forget their bad beats more than their wins with certain hands.

Yea, chicubs is right, you tend to remember the bad beats instead of the hands where you hut your king on the river to make trips and win.

Yeah you do remember the bad ones that is not my point exactly. I am sure that if you played 10,000 hands a month at PS and tracked them the numbers would be close. But if they are even 2 percentage points off then something isn't right. I probably will not feel warm and secure about the sites being totally square till a legitimate body that has open doors decides to man up and license these joints.

I have to say that the worst "NON" Random site has to be party poker. They love to hand out the flushes and Quads on Full houses all the time(mostly on river). So in relation I wouls have to say Pokerstars is probably not that bad compared to the more popular sites.

I used to play at Poker Stars but switched to Absolute Poker and am having better success. I thought there was to many flushes so I switched sites.
