Any ideas about the absurd rakes taken in US brick and mortar card rooms ? Here in California they drop 4 dollars for the house every flop in the card rooms and Indian casinos . Then they take another buck or two for jackpots and other promotions . ( Cant be sure if all that money really goes back to the players either ). It makes any poker game less than $2/$5 no limit almost unbeatable long term . How can you overcome that negative EV ? ! In the big poker rooms in Los Angeles I have heard they take a dollar in a raised pot even if there is no flop ! Add in an occasional dealer toke and you stand to have an almost impossible task . I' wish some kind of boycott was possible !

Quit poker and play penny slots ! I do agree it is outrageous the amount of money they drop , and if you only have a few players in the hand the pot is bare.
