Everleaf & Ragin Bet Update - :(

"Players that logged into an Everleaf Gaming skin today were forced to agree to a new set of terms and conditions before seeing the cashier or player admin area. There were several new terms that players were unhappy about, the most notable new term was:

18. No person who is resident in Malta, france and USA may open an account, play, or in any other way participate in the ELG offerings and/or services.

While Everleaf Gaming did not accept players from Malta, the addition of France and USA into that terms is new and was added just today. This change of terms was brought on by an investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This investigation led to the seizure of one of Everleaf Gaming’s U.S. facing payment processors. The funds held by the payment processor were also seized.

The voice of Minted Poker known as Neil stated that the Everleaf Gaming Network was hit with a cease and desist demand from U.S. authorities. After a discussion with the Lottery and Gaming Authority, the organization that licenses Everleaf Gaming in Malta, it was agreed that Everleaf Gaming would leave the U.S. market. It is not known at this time how U.S. players will be paid, how long the process will take, or when U.S. players will be banned from the network. As of now, U.S. players are continuing to play for real money at Everleaf Gaming Network tables.

Minted Poker assured all players outside the U.S. that it was business as usual and that player funds were ring fenced. It was also noted that once U.S. players were removed from the network, the entire network would convert to Euros as their only currency.

Everleaf Gaming is expected to make an announcement in the next 12-24 hours that should give players more details about cashouts and when U.S. play will be suspended on the network. We will continue to monitor the situation and will post updates as they become available.

Other U.S. Poker Rooms Licensed by LGA

Everleaf Gaming is leaving the U.S. in part due to the suggestion of the LGA, who licenses and stores the servers for Everleaf Gaming. Merge Gaming also holds a license issued by the LGA. Merge Gaming is a different scenario than Everleaf Gaming though because Merge Gaming’s servers are located on the Kahnawake reservation in canada which is the home of their primary licensor. While this may be an interesting next few days, there is no reason to believe that there is any immediate concern about Merge Gaming."

More bad news .
There is some good news tho as PKR one of the very few never to have allowed U.S. players are seriously looking into opening their doors in the near future and Merge are looking like lifting their 3 month old ban on new players from the States too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Merge lift that ban on new players from the US several weeks ago?

minted closed

I received a note today that my cashout request from minted is cancelled and not open to US players anymore. So does this mean I wont get my money out?. Also still waiting 4 months for a Cake cashout. Sick of all this bullshit. I may just start playing at casinos

Well I guess that it the end of the OFC 7K giveaway on RaginBet this weekend??? Was looking forward to the freeroll and even thinking about depositing to get into the 5K added tourney if I didn't cash in the freeroll.

An email from OFC just arrived in my box with this:

Online Forum Challenge $7K Giveaway sponsored by RaginBet -

POSTPONED
We all know good things come to those who wait, and unfortunately, we have to wait just a little longer for the RaginBet Events.

RaginBet wants to make sure these poker tournaments go off without a hitches, and we here at GGE can totally respect that. We will let everyone know what the new dates are as soon as they are ready.

Just curious, what was everleaf doing that merge isnt doing. I have a feeling the US wants everyone out before they will even consider having US only online poker.

Speculation is that UIGEA relies on state law to determine what "illegal gambling" is. ELG was serving all 50 states and Merge is currently banning players from 5 states.

That being said, I've heard unconfirmed rumors that Merge may have also received the same letter from the DOJ and are contemplating the same move(again this is unconfirmed). Who really knows how many other sites received a similar letter. True Poker and Bovada have already had "legal problems" with the US gov. before and made the decision to continue to operate so the DOJ would have to do more then send them letters for them to stop, IMO!

Less and less sites to choose from. I hope everyone receives their money quickly. Fortunately, I had stopped playing on ELG a few months ago.

Where specifically is this buzz circulating?

Compare and contrast to what appeared in Part Time Poker today:

Add the $13.90 I had left on there to the pile from FTP and AP.

Now I'm glad I did withdrawals from most of the smaller sites just prior to BF. Was feeling like an idiot for a while, just wish I had w/d from everywhere.

I've heard it from various people, but none of them are people I would consider to be in "the know" completely.

Who knows though yet. It's still to early. It may be deeper then Merge too(warning complete speculation!)

Sites like True Poker and Bovado have had "legal issues" with the US Gov before and basically flipped them the finger so if they received another threatening letter it probably wouldn't even be mentioned. They would continue to operate until something happened that forced them to stop, IMO.

Everleaf open to usa in future?

just got this e-mail from Luvin poker...an everleaf skin. the end reads...

<<I can say, however, that the last 24 hours have presented some incredible opportunities for Luvin Poker. The old adage has held true, when one door closes, another one will open. In this situation, there are many doors opening and Luvin Poker is not going away. We're will be changing, we will be developing, and we will be growing. Real money for U.S. players will be returning in the future.>>

do u think they will be leaving everleaf...or will everleaf open doors to usa in future?

Thank you again US Government....... for taking yet another option off our table. I am so sick and damn tired of this. The economy is in the tank and you are doing this stupid crap. Seriously !!!!! Take a break already. Instead of bothering these people ( unless they are STEALING ) do something really productive such as LEGALIZE IT !!!!!!!

Yet another reason to vote against the current admin........

And just about everybody in Congress. Whether you like Barney Frank or not, he has been a long time proponent of legalization, it's too bad he is not running again.

I had $40 on luvin the day it happened. But, right before the cashier closed I sent my $40 to a Canadian friend. Will get it later. Pretty lucky I did that so my account balance is 0.00!

I was pretty lucky again also. Everleaf had made some changes a few months ago that I was against so I had cashed out a few hundred and started playing on other sites. Somehow I once again dodged a bullet and only had 3Euro's on Minted Poker(not sure how I even had that, must have been a Rakeback payment for a partial day???). I had a similar thing happen at FT and right before Black Friday had switched my roll to Merge.

I'd like to say I hope everyone that does have money tied up on this site(or any) is able to safely Cashout and receives it quickly.

Theres no denying it. We're all at the mercy of the "powers that be". So I'll just keep playing at these rooms until they tell me "NO US ALLOWED".
Aced, All in, Americas Cardroom, Blackchip,Bovada,Cake,Carbon,Colt,Feltstars, intertops,Iron Duke,Lock,Optimus,Overbet,PDC,Poker Host,Poker Nordica, PokerPlayerCafe,Yoga. Know of any more rooms that accept US players? Postem if you like.
