I got this E-Mail from poker stars and found a $1.79 credit to my account. I wonder what went on?

Anyone else get this, or ever have it happen?

Hello,

PokerStars has become aware of a situation involving a violation of our Terms of Service, to the potential detriment of other players. You participated in games that were under consideration in this case and as a result you may have been adversely affected.

In a case such as this it is our policy to confiscate the balances of the offender(s) and for PokerStars to add funds where appropriate. This compensation pool is then distributed to players potentially affected in as fair a way as possible.

To confirm your credit, please log onto your PokerStars account, go to the 'Cashier' screen and click the 'History' button. Your share will be shown as "REFUND", followed by the amount of the credit.

The integrity of the games at PokerStars is of paramount importance and appropriate action will always be taken when players operate outside the Terms of Service. PokerStars works hard to police the games in order to pro-actively prevent such instances. However, in cases where it is discovered that rules breaches have occurred, the aim is to ensure that any players affected are compensated appropriately.

We regret that we will be unable to answer questions as to how your specific credit amount was calculated. Likewise, we are not at liberty to identify the specific games or player(s) in question. Suffice to say that the offender(s) have been barred from the site and you will not encounter them again.

Thank you for your continued play at PokerStars. Please let us know if we can help you with any further issues or questions.

Regards,

PokerStars Game Integrity Team

Hmmm. that does sound fishy when you can't ask how much you bought into the affected game :s what if it was for a high buyin :( I can understand they don't want to inform everyone of the rogue behavior on stars as it may scare monger but IMO I think its worse not knowing who or whats doing all this :( atleast you got an some kind of compensation :)

Good news on your part.
pokerstars found out some collusion happened and you were one of the victims on that table.
You can check further details on their website.

I have received a similar e-mail and credit a couple of times before. Evidently, PokerStars uncovered some sort of behaviour, contrary to the site's terms of service, that may have affected the result of a game that you participated in.

I don't know of any other site that would offer such a credit, or that even possesses the security capable of detecting the cheating in question. This is but one reason why PokerStars is #1.

when stars uncovers collusion,or soft play they confiscate the funds of the cheating players and they work out who was affected by the cheating and then the funds are allocated to the affected players. Stars is the only site where this has happened . NO other site seems to send out these emails so presumably confiscated funds at other rooms must be remaining in the sites pockets.

Noticed looking at my history that had similar for like 2.49, could have been from anything but most likely an stt somewhere along the line that there was some collusion going on. I'll take any refund stars wants to give me and I'm glad they are on their toes with this stuff as difficult to notice it unless obvious when running 12 tables lol.

Now if only it had been a 249.00$ refund that would have been awesome lol.

Yes, this happens from time to time, and seldom is there any more info available than what you got in that email.

It is one of the many reasons Stars is the ONLY WORLD CLASS OLP site.

Nice job from pokerstars, they really work hard to check and allocate found to players affected, they have to read every hand palyed, and to see if you have been affected on that hand for every player, never you will find a pokerroom that will do this job, hope i will find some email like that one to get a bankroll boost :)
