Hey For those who don't know several times a day pokerstars has freerolls of 7000 to 12000 people wich you need to finish in the top 99 to get a ticket for a 2000$ prize poll tournament of around 4000. saturday hold'em nl and sunday omaha H/L

I learn to play hold'em no limit first like most of you im guessing and it's only by internet poker hat I learned the other types of game stud omaha ect...

Anw I always wanted to be in the top 99 of these huge tournaments and cause hold'em was the game I knew and undrstood the best I would always join those tournaments and always fall short after loosing from people calling all there hands. Im sure im not the only one it pisses off.

So I decided to join an omaha limit tourney On m first try I finish 86 ut of over 7000 people wich finaly got me to the 2000 tourney. The sunday after I went in the 2000$ omaha H/L tourney an finish in the 300 hundreds out of around 5000 players. I only won 1,40$ yes put I was very happy.

I wanted to put this thread to push people to check the different types of poker games one might be better for you than the classic hold'em.

I usually switch over to something else after a a few losses to keep it fresh...But I've played in a few of those tournaments and with all the games I played that seemed to be the case with people calling with anything. That can be great when you hit a nice hand, it can double you up fast but with all the hands they're pushing all in with its only a matter of time before one of their 67offsuit flops a straight.

They don't have anything to lose so they play that way in almost every freeroll I've encountered. It does get annoying at times

Actually tried a $10 razz tourney the other day for kicks. I was in 5th place at the first break. But as the blinds got higher in the limit game, it got more of a crapshoot, ended up all-in with the best hand and lost. Oh well, that's how tournaments go and why I enjoy cash games more.

I also do play some HORSE on occaision, real soft games at stars, but I suck at stud, basically usually just fold everything unless I get dealt a monster.

Yeah, I wish there were more low-stake HORSE tourneys at PokerStars.

i usually switch it up to but most games have all aspects of the actual game of poker so you did do well in omaha because ut has similarities of holdem and you still knew what to do....

Yeah, I wish there were more low-stake HORSE tourneys at PokerStars.

PS has HORSE tourneys at $1,3,5 and 10 daily. Plus SnGs starting at #1 Just look, you'll find lots of opportunities to play at low stakes.

I think we should all play more other games not only holdem.
Im sure the level in each game is muc lower than holdem at any stakes.

My favourite tournament game is HORSE, I tend to try to avoid playing the Holdem rounds unless i hit a monster but I've found that I can pick up a lot of chips in the Stud 8 round, partly because some don't read the cards that other players have folded so you know what hands are possible, partly because people will bet into what looks like a small flush or straight without realising the possibilities of an A high and A low flush or straight flush to scoop the pot
