Looks like another one bites the dust...

Mod Edit: Well not really. DOJ just seized an unused domain name and indicted Calvin Ayre. No actual poker players were harmed in this action!

Call it what you want but you can no longer play there (Bovada) or even access the Bovada website. This happened today...

Yeah the old one they weren't using anyway. They did indict Calvin Ayre though. Changing thread title now.

We are aware of both the seizure of the domain bodog.com on Monday and the indictment against Calvin Ayre released this morning. Please be assured that neither of these have in any way affected the operations of Bovada and it’s very much business as usual. The account details and funds of our players remain totally secure. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at 1-888-263-0000 or service@bovada.lv.

This is good news. Calvin Ayre is an a-hole and a detriment to online poker.

I guess they weren't quite as anonymous as they'd hoped.
Wonder what it says on the indictment.... #0209 has been arrested for ....

I just read this now.. Crazy news.. I play at Lock and as soon as i heard that news i withdrew a large amount of money. Hopefully, i get it . I withdrew via courier and i don't know exactly how long that will take to process and get to me. Also, i hope i will have no problems at the bank.. Anybody know anything on this? Thanks

Why is anyone surprised at this? Haven't we known this was going to happen for months? That is why Bodog stopped using the domain lol.

My bet is Merge goes down next,,,,,

Grrr... My gut feeling is you're right, although I have nothing to back that up. Seems like DOJ is determined to completely eliminate legal, online poker in the US. I'm sure some hard-core players will try to get around this with some techno-geek whiz-bang stuff like VPN's and whatnot, but for most US players I'm afraid the future looks bleak and isn't necessarily getting better any time soon. Hope I'm wrong.
