I am mainly a home game gal, but I got a chance to play online for a while, I didn't lose! Anyway, the cards 'zip by' I barely get a chance to see the cards and the table is cleared, half the time I was left checking the chat to see if I won or lost! (or looking at my stack)

I felt rediculously inadequate, and found it puzzling to keep track of 'sitout' and 'mark' people, in home games I know the players, and any new people I find it easy to get used to, I can put a name and a face to the play! I can follow the jokes, I can even find out what snack they like. But online, I have a funky mispelled handle and a silly avatar, that changes, and may not even be a girl look for a girl!

Grrr, not to sure I like the online game, but then I won money, I liked that part! (freeroll)

First thing, you're smart to play the freerolls and/or play money until you get the feel of it. But take heart...Yes! It does get easier! :)

Of course, in online gambling there are no physical tells to go on; but soon you'll learn to read your opponents betting patterns. Just stay alert, and pay attention. You'll be an old pro in now time.

Play on a site like Pacific or King Solomon's where the software is so slow it's incredibly easy to keep track. ^^

Each site can be different but stay patient and play at the lower levels until you get used to all the little quirks and the things to do.

It shouldnt be too bad for you as if you have played before at least your at an advantage - you know the basics, i hadn't even played a hand in my life when i started :p - not doing too bad now :)

Just remember the lower levels do tend to have a lot of maniacs :(

Enjoy and Peace

Dunno about that, m8, Pacific is pretty zippy. Have you played there since the last update ? There`s a regular turbo tourney that I like, but blink and you`ve missed six hands

Titan (there`s a link to it from CC :) ) was my favourite site when I was new to the online game. It has a very clear, and easily accessible, graphic hand history. You can always see exactly what happened, even if you were briefly out of the room. Titan also clearly marks sitouts.

As JQ says, it does get easier. I felt the same way when I was starting out.

Admittedly no. My apologies to them if they have actually fixed their software so that it's no longer possible to go and make a cup of tea in between hands.

Over time, it will get easier. It's just like anything else new that you get in to. A little work and practice, and poof, you're cruising right along.

Before you know it, you'll be playing 2 tables at time (just don't rush to get there).

I've figured that by overlapping and having myself in the same position I can actually fit like 15 on my monitor, but I wouldnt recommend it.

Thats impressive, Busty.

Not trying to be funny, m8, but if you look at the theme of this thread, I don`t know how that`s going to help Princess. I should think it would make her even more discouraged to see guys who are that comfortable while she`s struggling.

Then I must not have included enough text. (I was half asleep when I posted it)

I wasn't comfortable with the interface either when I started. Heck, Im still not comfortable with titan and full tilt. It took me a while to get used to it, but it DOES get easier, and eventually it will be second nature if you play enough hands.

Tht wasn't meant as a haha picture, it was meant as a, with practice it will get easier.

Sorry about that confusion.

Slower sites

I've noticed that some sites take down the cards and play the cards slower than others. If you're looking for a slower site try poker stars and Golden Palace. Poker stars gives the player an option to show his hand after every hand, if every player doesn't hit the dont show button, play is slowed down accordingly.:)

royal vegas is one of the fastest sites that take up the cards before you get a good chance to see what was played, so if you're a novice at online poker, Royal Vegas moves pretty fast so beware.

All the Prima (Criptographic?) sites are like this. Once the hand is complete, it vanishes before you even know what hit you. No eay way to review the hand either, unless you have pokertracker or some similar software. I play at Poker Stars and Full Tilt. Both offer previous hand reviews. I like Full Tilts a little better. They provide a screen shot of the board along with a summary, but it only goes back 50 hands. If you want a review of an entire session, more than 50 hands, Poker Stars is better. But you have to review it in text format.

P.S.- OneMoreBust, that was simply amazing! 18 tables? Holy crap!!!
