Just recently had the itch to play a little poker online since the whole pokerstars and FullTilt thing happened. I'm playing at Bovada but just noticed a lot of negative remarks about this software. Am I one of the few still on here lol  ?

I am still there, although I do not like the software crappiness at all. The anonymous thing doesn't bother me that much.

I only registered once since the change, and have not yet withdrawn my funds out of laziness.

I will never play there again. Partly cause I dont like the SW, and partly cause the anonymous thing is so fkn ridiculous as far as the game of poker goes imo. You can argue all you want about tracking SW etc. OK, I use it, I like it, and I understand that some people dont, and some site dont allow it. Fine. Something for everyone. Play sites that dont allow it, if thats your thing and vice-versa. But, the arguments on sites that dont allow it are along the lines that in live poker you have to use your memory too. But Bovada takes that aspect away as well. Just stupid. Not poker anymore. tells are such a major part of poker. You can make a donk play, then just leave and come back. It makes the game easier for colluders and cheaters as well. Yay. Isn't that great for poker, especially in these times..............

I'm playing there now because it was the only place I could get money in with a prepaid card. Just got back into poker after a hiatus. Not crazy about the software or the whole anonymous thing, but man the players are still awful, just flat out giving money away. I'm guessing with the limited # of tables you're allowed at it keeps the regs away and probably draws in a lot of the sportsbook/casino players as well. Enjoying playing there for now, but not sure how long I'm going to stay.

They gave me $25 to start playing there again, the software sucks but so don't the players...I had it up to $130 in about a week playing .2/.5. I wish I could tile four tables on my screen but I can't so I cascade 3 tables which sucks. Until they straighten out online poker legally it is what it is...I'm stuck with it.

I see no difference in it since it changed over from bodog. I have qualified for some of the big tourneys there, but have not cashed as yet. I don't use any poker tracker or hud, so the software has not affected me as much as others.

Bovada has the same bimonthly freeroll that Bodog had. 7K. 25 player points to play in satty. I cashed yesterday in it and it was not that difficult as compared to what PStars and FTP had for US players. I miss playing horse and wish they would have that game at Bovada.

Funnily enough, I only ever logged on once and didnt like the look or the anonymous thing.

I was gonna cash out, and had a problem logging in and the service rep online was so helpful and quick and nice (service at bodog really is good) I ended up playing a round of 25nl just to see what it was like and boosted my BR since the play was so LOL BAD, and now I am thinking....hmmm... maybe not so bad to play the odd cash game after all......

AND it is Bodog by name still, I thought it was Bovada..??

It's Bovada for US players, Bodog for the rest.

I never play on there (aside from a few CC games).

Why all the complaining? Hmm... maybe read a few posts about it (assuming you haven't already that is). Just for starters, not being able to note players & be able to exploit their tendancies & weaknesses turns the game into a pretty boring, level1 thinking game imo. I guess if you're typically playing your hands the same vs. all different players than there really is no difference but to many 'poker' is alot more than this. (not to even begin to get into security issues)

Yea I read it all already and was ready to cash out since from what I have read I didnt have any desire to play here anymore, for exactly the things you stated above.

But, when I looked on the tables, 25nl, not a single stack at the max, stacks from 11$ to 22$, most hovering around 14-18, so it looks like a table of bad players (it WAS lol) and so I tried it. A couple bust out (cause of me..lol again) otherwise I was able to get some reads after a few orbits, I played tight and aggressive and was getting called and looked up with all kinds of crap....

It would not be a site would play at a lot, but I increased my BR a lot in a short time, due to real bad play. So I figured that gave some value to consider playing the odd cash game. I wouldnt want to play a tourney there except maybe a CC one.

But I may cash out anyway. Just thinking about a weekend BR booster if it is often like it was yesterday.

My comments weren't directed at you Fletchdad (just the first one was.. re: Bovada & Bodog) the others were at Lean&Mean > "I don't understand all the moaning" (I should've quoted but was too lazy).

My turbo low limit DONs turbo play pretty much the same. Didn't see too many regulars, but when I did see them my notes were helpful. My biggest beef is now if I find a laggy player on on table I can't match them up on the other tables when I'm multi-tabling.

I am a bit pissed they didn't allow more than 4 SNGs at once since they allow more than 4 cash games at once. Why?

How much was the fee for the prepaid card and how long did it take to get it?

check the paypower website, you can buy/load the card in a lot of local supermarkets, convenience stores, etc.
