Alot of us here play on Carbon. I personally don't care for the layout but alot of others do.
Unless something has changed it does take a couple months to get a check when you cash out.

It depends what you are looking for. Sometimes I find that there are not enough ring games at the level i want so I can play four similar tables. What I do like is the 1k guaranteed mtts. Reasonably good payouts with a field of between 80 and 120 people so you can play these tournies in 2-3 hours and still get a nice payday.

The software is very fast and they have a lot of great animations. I agree with the post that said it's often hard to find ring games (at least at the low limits-I never looked for any at the high stakes, lol). People say that it takes a long time to get your money when you cash out, which is a big minus...Other than the cash out problem, I think it's a very good site.

The software is very fast ...

Well, to each his own ...
My only beef with Carbon, and all sites on the Merge network, is that the client is too Slow! Takes too much computer to run it, even with the animations turned off.
Is there anybody who only plays one game at a time?
I tried having two tables open at a Merge site and got timed out every other hand. Regarding speed of the clients, I prefer stars, tilt, ipoker, ongame, cake, almost any other network over Merge!

You can grow old waiting for a cashout check, very frustrating.

Somehow it takes them 2 months to get a check to you!

I agree. I know I have a cheapo, slow computer, but it works just fine on all other poker sites. It won't work on Merge. I hate to even think of how many tournaments I got burnt in because of 10-20 minute freezes.

I agree totally with Snow. They also make it a very difficult process to get your cash-out. I've almost given up trying to get my winnings, so play there knowing about these troubles.

There are a lot of better sites. I play cc freerolls there, and very little else.

In fairness, I think we should recognise that having them send you a cheque is a primitive and inefficient way of withdrawing money from any poker room and is forced on our American friends by their nutty legislature. It is not really the fault of Carbon or the Merge network.

I use neteller and find that electronic transactions are just as swift and satisfactory as with any other site.

i play on carbon and a couple other merge skins. i enjoy the ring games there but the tourny structure is a little too fast for me. if your a tourny player who likes a slower blind structure i would go elsewhere, if not enjoy.

For sure it wouldn't be my first pick (not by a longshot).
As far as the software being draining on computer & experiencing freezeout problems,... I've never experienced anything of the sort (with multiple tables opened & while playing on 3 or 4 other sites at the same time as Carbon). This was on a laptop with 1GB Ram, another with 2GB, & another with 4GB. It ran fine on all of them, never ever have had a problem (zero freezeups, etc.).

I play on ~half-dozen sites and of those, Carbon would rank in #7. idk.. I just don't like it.
If you were playing micro buyin SNG's I think it'd be a decent place to play as the players seemed pretty weak on there in comparsion to say Fulltilt for example (although the $1's & $2's (and sometimes $5's, depending upon time of day) can be pretty bad too). I don't think it'd be too difficult to maintain a small bankroll on Carbon by playing the micro limits.

As a suggestion, why not try out some freerolls on there first, just to see whether or not you like it. If you get over 65posts (or however many it is atm... is it 65?.. or 75??) then you'll be able to play in the Cardschat freeroll on there.

As mentioned above, most of the tournaments on Carbon have a pretty fast structure to them - - once the blinds begin to go up, they REALLY GO UP, so that even when you might be a ways off the bubble, stack sizes are so shallow that even the avg. stack size should be playing shove/fold poker. It's a bit too fast for my liking.

Agree with a previous poster.
I play on CP freerolls mostly. And when I win I ger the enyrance tickets to the tournaments. Playing this way I maked small bankroll. It is a nice and a simple way to play.
Pretty nice room.
