I have taken a break from poker, but I'm back...I'm trying out ultimate bet, can anyone give me feedbaq on the site...IE competition level, and what stakes you've experienced the most success...Im referring to cash games but also have any of you enjoyed their tournaments or had success in any of them. So basically just overall feedbaq about this site is all I'm looking for, thank you much.

UB still leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths after the scandal and then the Helmuth hand glitch.

That said, I have a couple bucks on there that I donk around with once in awhile when I'm taking a break from my regular grind. Just won a $2 SnG last night in fact. The competition is typically very soft because there's not a lot of top players there. Waiting around for SnG's to fill up can be excruciating, sometimes it's completely dead in there.

Their software SUCKS. It's probably the worst client software of any site IMO, and that includes Cake skins. They've tried to make it look nice, and the production values for their site and client overall are pretty high, but the actual gameplay experience is terrible. It's incredibly slow in some places (e.g. shoving pots to the winner), too fast in others (auto-fold processing), the audio is like nails on a chalkboard, etc. All minor nags that add up to a frustrating experience when you're used to PS or FT.

I wouldn't play them as my primary site. It's hard to beat PS or FT if you're a US player, so I'd tend to recommend them above all others. I'd probably go with bodog or Carbon before I put a lot into UB/AP.

I personally like ultimate bet. I find the competition soft in cash games and it is fairly easy to build a roll there.

I play 25 and 50NL there often. There are always soft games to be found. I have not had the software glitches that some people seem to have had. They have actually improved the software in the last few months. (added auto rebuy and topoff) The only thing I wish they had was a time bank but other than that, I like it.:) Almost forgot the most important thing.....I have had no problem with cashouts.

For SnGs I have been playing the 20 cent and 50 cent games with decent success. They play like play money chips. If you are in a rush to build a roll though these probably aren't for you. Like someone siad the wait times for them to fill up is painful.

It's a pretty good site. I started from nothing to 30 dollars. But stupidly blew it all on their blackjack.

I also play the .10 and .25 ring games on Ultimatebet. To say the games are soft is an understatement. I have built up a good bankroll fairly quickly. The client is basic, but I have had no troubles with its functionality. As for the player perks, they are the slowest out of all the sites at the start. But, as you progress, they multiply quickly.

Like UB. Plenty of tourneys all day long. I like the $5 to $20 range with about 100 to 300 entries. Nice prize funds. I find the software to be fine.

I play at UB and the cash games are pretty soft the NL10 and the NL50. They have one of the best tournament structures that I've played in.

Unusual. Did the bank give you a reason?
Insufficient Funds?

I have read some positive stories about their service here on CC.

I am anticipating requesting a check from them. Would you mind posting their e-mail response here?

Thanks

To be honest, I hate the UB RAISE points system. It's so gratifying to play on other sites where you at least get fractional points. If I play a low stakes game on UB for half an hour or an hour, I might not have entered enough hands to get any kind of reward whatsoever. If it was a fractional system, that would be sweet.

UB would not be my first choice to play on, but it's fine - the software is not great, but it's fine. It's alright. Nice looking hoodies in the store. :)

I don't seem to get these bot users in cash tables, but in tournaments I know who they are...

I've always been a UB fan, but 2 cheating scandals makes me question it. I've always found the competition at UB a lot softer than anywhere else. I've had the best MTT and SNG success at UB.

I agree with morris, the Ultimatebet software is awful. The layout is inferior to Pokerstars or ft. the audio gives me a headache.

And yeah what morris brought up again, the hellmuth hand, the software isn’t even accurate.

So if the software gives me a headache and it isn’t reliable, why play there?

But ubet used to offer pineapple though. don’t know if they still do. theres something id like to play. lolololo. Nope nope nope.

Only holdem and Omaha players are there, and I can get plenty of them that are just as bad at the other sites. Razz and stud8 tables are empty at Ultimatebet. It’s a ghost town of a poker site.

Im wondering if mikey or prahlad got all of their money back from russ yet?

Probably not.

Shame that a holdem tourn legend represents that site.

Awful site.

The Bot scandal was stars, and it was stopped.
Bots were never allowed at UB,
Yes it has had its security issues, but Bots allowed is laughable.

Oooh I forgot, the only thing that I liked about Ultimatebet was their condensed table view.

I could play a lot more tables without straining my eyes and I didn’t have to look at their bland layout. So the condensed table view was actually a good thing at the site.

That’s the 1 thing I wish the other sites had. But I still wouldn’t recommend that site to my worst enemies.

if ur bored of playing at the other sites i wouldnt suggest a change of scenery especially at Ultimatebet, but a layoff perhaps.

Actually,I really like UB,despite the cheating scandle a few years ago.UB has paid me fairly quick every time Ive cashed out.I just cashed last week actually, and expecting a check any day now.
Perhaps try a freeroll or two, until ya get the feel for it...I prefer playing the Badbeat tables myself.Theres not alot of donkin, and you have a shot at the Jackpot while you play.

I played UB for a while last year & enjoyed their daily MTTs. Personally, I found the opponents to be softer than FTP's & Pokerstars' at the lower limits... I just didn't like the software GUI.

I've tried it and the games seem soft but it's hard to take them seriously as a poker site with all of the shenanigans they have pulled.

I'd amend this to say play at the BBJ tables when the jackpot is high enough to warrant it (~$200,000+ or better) since there's 50 cents taken in extra jackpot rake from every pot that reaches $5 or more. That's a pretty big hit for every pot you win, so the potential payback needs to justify the extra cost.
