Do you get software delays at Carbon as well?

I hadn’t played at the Merge network for years. Recently I started playing at Carbon Poker and fell in love with their Supersonic HU tournament.

However the problem that I’m having at Carbon is that there is sometimes delays in the reaction time of the software. For example, I make a bet and it could take several seconds to register, if ever. These delays make it impossible for me to consider playing at Carbon at higher stakes.

I’ve recorded an example of this happening in this video:

See the hand at 4:35. The bet I made on the turn didn’t register at all, and I was sat out.

This sort of thing doesn’t happen to me at Black Chip or Seals With Clubs. Do you get delays when you play at Carbon or other Merge sites?

Thanks.

Yes, it happens at times. I've even timed out a couple of times the last few months and I know it is their software b/c any other program I may have open is running fine.

I've seen it happen at ACR on occasion also.

This has happened to me as well. I missed out on the winning hand a couple times. Pisses me off to. I also did have problems with ACR glitching as it would deal out the cards. I dunno if it's there end or mine.

Okay, thanks guys.

I guess this is standard operating poker for U.S. players.

Bovada is definitely the worse for me as far as server lag. I get disconnected constantly but the entire rest of the internet works at blazing speed simultaneously. I don't have much problems at all with ACR.

Since I have started playing more on Carbon recently, I have noticed an occasional lag as well. On more than one occasion I became concerned that I would time out before my action registered. However, I have yet for that to happen. I think as the play initial play clock winds down, the server sends a message alerting you that have so many seconds to play. This message seems to tickle the connection and get it back going.

I have noticed that it seems to happen more often when I have Bovada running at the same time, whether I am actually participating in a Bovada game or not. I haven't really noticed any lag when I play on Bovada, though. Closing down Bovada seems to help, but still every once in a while there does seem to be a bit of lag. This may have had something to do with the switcheroo (https://www.cardschat.com/forum/general-poker-13/switcharoo-253683/) that I recently experienced. I don't recall any lag occurring during the hand in question, but the hand history did say that I had disconnected. So it is possible.

I also forgot to mention this to. I was on acr and bovada at the same time. I was playing on a cash game table on bovada & a tournament on acr. Well when acr started to glitch when it froze dealing the cards, bovada crashed to. It almost seems like they conflict with each other. Only i don't get this problem running bovada with carbon.
