Manny times when playing MTT tournament i fall out right before the pay places and its a crushing and frustrating fealing that i was so close - but failed.
Thats why i prefer knockout tournaments. You can knockout few opponents, collect their bounty and fall out - u didnt "go home" empty handed. If u atleast earn ur Buy-in or even little bit more - its a pretty good resolt for that unlucky try - means u can start all over in another tourny and give your best again. Realy hate when i play regular, then knockout few opponents playing very tricky with amazing hunch for cards and then lose on hand pair like 55 and all my effort to come closer to reward place and final tabel was simply > "erased".

What do you think?

Have had some success in the KO tournements. Different variety and concept especially when there are large bounties on offer so not really about looking at winning the MTT until your generally down to the final 15 people where ICM prizes come into effect

I once played at this tournament for the PS and I was incredibly lucky. I took 1st place and took $ 720 prize. At the same time I bowled only 5 or 6 igrakov. Bain was $ 1.35, which gave $ 0.25 for the ejected player. More I did not play such tournaments. I understand that the probability again to take the 1st place among the 3000 players are incredibly small. :icon_pira

The prize pool is seriously affected by the bounty prizes. Also, people are more willing to call all in short stacks with meager holdings.

I don't mind knock out tournaments, but I prefer regular.

I love knockout tournaments for the same reason that you mentioned (not going home empty handed).

I frequently play the bovada $2.20 Super Knockout and have had some success playing those with multiple cashes and a few wins. The field is not that challenging unless the players are simply shoving all in just to gain the bounty of someone else but I'm surprised how serious most people play.

I think regular fits me more, but i can play ko sometimes just for fun :)
KO tournaments dont make any profit for tight-agressive players imo

They are fun, you have to treat them a lot like rebuys at the start though because so many will make risky plays just to get a bounty.

It's an interesting mixup that can create an interesting dynamic depending on how much of the prize pool is awarded on bounties . I have seen some crazy play in these type of tournaments because a lot of people will gamble for the bounties . I believe it definately can lead to wider calling ranges for opponents and a generally looser game .

I like the Progressive Super Knockouts. Final tables are so interesting when there is tons of extra money up for grabs.

I also like the KO's - especially the progressive ones.
It does have considerable effect on the play, it is challenging and a bit more daring. It is more fun.

Knockout tournaments are good but sometimes players are trying only to bust the others and then its difficul to make o bounty!

I like KO games and used to love playing the 90-man KO games FTP used to offer when I was able to play there. One thing I love about them is the bad players who will call with very marginal hands, just for a chance at the bounty. I just laugh at the players that go after the bounty with any two cards.. I swear some don't realize that you only get a % of your buy-in back for a bounty... But some players love to bust early chasing that bounty.. I just sit back and pick them off like a sniper.

Ko tornament is one of my favourite, you can still cash a few Ko even you are eliminated, also easier to get itm because fish were more aggressive than other tourney.

I am all about knockout tournaments, because it allows you to pick up extra money when people play looser. They want the bounty so they play a hand they normally would not to try to gain it.. You pick the right spot and you can make a lot of money..

Take it or leave it. money in MTT's is at the final table, knockouts or bounties are not going to make you a bunch of money for you just like cashing in tournaments is not. I think I would rather have all the money in the pool at the top. or even a somewhat flatter than normal payout rather than a bounty.

Most of the time i just pretend its not a knockout tourney unless the bounty makes up for the extra chips to call

It is as you say friend , often playing regular tournaments you stay one step into positions collection and it's frustrating , but with the system of knockout you can eliminate some villains and retrieve the buy in tournament .. That's why I think they are very good tournaments .. Greetings !

I agree

I remember times when I collected triple my buy-in off of bounties alone!!! & those were fun times!!! Good luck in knockout tournaments.
