I like to think that it will expand to more states but I think it is going to take quite a while. I believe that they are operating in New Jersey, Delaware, and Nevada, but that is it as far as I know. I just don't see much movement as far as online gambling or poker at the moment. I think that even if something passed at the National level that it would be up to each state to decide what they are going to allow. It is kind of a mess but there are small movements in that direction so I am hoping that sometime in the not so distant future there will be more alternatives, like poker stars, for us US players.

It would be great. Increasing the number of players would be useful for poker. And I do not understand why poker is forbidden.

They didn't leave the USA by choice, our government had a lot to say about it. If the government said come on back they would be back in a hot minute.

You can play PS at Nevada and New Jersey, as far as i know. So, in general they don't leave US.

Not sure

I sure hope they do. It would become the best poker site in the US as soon as they do.

Exactly this and pokerstars doesn't even have the same ownership that they once had so its not exactly the same site that you remember it to be

I'm really hoping they come back to the US. I live in Michigan and was a little sad when I found out I couldn't play for real money on their site anymore. Pokerstars is where I started playing online and I've always like them and it would be really exciting to have them come back to the whole US.

Technically, you are correct - Poker Stars is operating in the USA. That said, the three states where it is legal to play on PS only account for 4% of the US population.

The remaining 96% of USA poker players in the other 47 states do not have an option of playing PS. Meaning, though technically PS available to USA, the largest % of USA poker players do not have the option to play for real money on PS - so in 96% of opinions, PS did indeed leave the US (not by PS choice, by US Gov't confusion about wire transfer rule).

I wish Pokerstars would come back to Minnesota. It would be nice to play on that site again.

I think it will be fine if PokerStars is allowed in usa, there will be more players and this would be fine for many players who want to play in such a poker room!

If they dont you can always find a work around such as a VPN https://www.privateinternetaccess.com is decent priced and has connections from all around the world to choose from. As well as they do not keep logs (there has been legal cases of governments attempting to acquire information such as U.S. gov and they simply told them we dont keep logs. (I do not know if this is a violation of their TOS or violation of local state federal international laws.)

Yes. They stay out of trouble in NJ, they'll be back online after sports gaming explodes.

I'd like it if Fulltilt would start letting US players bac into the real$ games, but PokerStars is the only old site bringing US players back to the real$ tables as state laws allow it

As more and more states begin to bring back online poker it will probably become a more well-known issue on the national level and eventually online poker will return. When? At least 5 more years, and probably longer. It's unfortunate.

Definitely review the terms and conditions (TOS) of any poker site which is intended to play at. I believe this approach potentially violates TOS. Furthermore - a players identity/address has to be verified to cash out... how would one using this approach cash out?
