Last night i played at cash at PKR, nearly about the end of the session, i wanted to go to account page online to see how much i'm ahead because i didn't know for sure because of the auto topups. When i clicked on cashier that supposed to send me to my browser i saw that the page was unavailable, i tried to refresh few times but nothing, i thought that i might be a server problem, went to CC so check subscribed tread but it was also unavailable, few other site too, i checked at network connection on status bar win7 and i lost the connection, green triangle with an exclamation mark on it, went back to PKR client and it was working properly, i kept playing for some time while every now or then i checked did i get the connection back but i didnt for some time, PKR is still working and playing, i started to be afraid for money that i won that session and i get out from the table and closed the client, i checked my account from my mobile phone and money was still there:cool:

How could PKR work without connection, FTP start the connecting screen whenever something happen to the connection, stars too...

I might not explained it well enough ask for further info if needed...

Thanks in advance!!!!

No poker client will be able to play a game without a connection and as far as I remember PKR also shows an on-screen notification if it is trying to reconnect. Therefore, if you didn't see a 'reconnecting' pop-up your connection was OK.

You should understand that the servers that sites use for their games are not the ones that they use for admin. Sometimes they are a few feet apart, sometimes in a different building, town or country. Therefore it is perfectly normal for someone to be able to carry on playing but not be able to contact support, cashiers etc. if there is something wrong with the support server(s). It works the other way round too, although less frequently, where you can contact support but not connect to the gaming server.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply henry, i understand that poker client and client support are two complexity different things but during that time i couldn't do anything online beside playing at PKR, i couldn't connect to CC, youtube etc, and the network panel was showing that i have no connection like limited or no connectivity back in winxp days... but PKR client was working just fine, i leave the table and decided to reset my modem and that is when PKR showed reconnecting screen...

Now that is odd. Don't see how PKR kept playing in that case.

The only thing I can think of, even though it's very unlikely and would only work if you were using wi-fi, is that you somehow piggy-backed onto a neighbours signal.

poker site have a relatively low bandwidth footprint. I have played a few times on a signal weak enough to prohibit my browser loading, yet the poker game continued unaffected.
