I haven't been on tilt for over a half a year but feel it for the first time in a long time tonight. I built some sign up perks, free tourney tickets and 2$ free, into a decent working micro bankroll on 888. So I had never deposited on 888 until they send me an email saying deposit 10 and get 30 free. So I think to myself that's +EV right?

Tonight I come home fire up my account to the 30 bonus has been withdrawn from my account. My fault for not checking the damn fine print. I had to earn 100+ 888 points to keep the money. 30 bucks is a lot for a micro guy to lose, let alone not even actually playing the cards to lose it. There is a lesson to be learned here. Read the damn fine print. My BR stands at just 85% of what it was when I played last, now I just want to join a 15$ SNG and win my perceived BR back. Give yourself a chuckle at my expense. :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha::deal:

I am not the only one who is blind as a bat :p

Learn your lesson from it, don't dwell on it or you will tilt. Use the money that you deposited and grind it up.

Not a fan of the joke poker sites such as 888 and partypoker who are not interested in poker so much as taking from you whatever they can

Poker sites are businesses, it would be ignorant to think that their top priority is anything but making money. I find it amazing that people don't realize this about other industries such as healthcare and pharmaceuticals, but I should probably take that to the conspiracy thread :p Thanks for bringing this up though, maybe you'll save some people the heartache you've experienced :)

Whilst I realise this,.... there is a difference in the sense that you pay for your playing with the rake... and that's hard enough to beat... on top of that.. they charge you admin costs and are generally bad for poker... in the sense that by taking someone who may want to play occasionally's balance for not playing often enough... will put off those players who want to play every once in a while... whilst also being clueless...I had problems with the party poker software... It simply crashed all the time... I informed them of this... and they were no help... and then they took my balance... despite the fact that I couldn't play on their site... The costs should be lower due to not having to pay dealers... not higher... So... if they're going to take your money unfairly... and then scare away potential fish... then how ... can they be good for poker?

I regret calling the sites joke poker sites now but I still believe that they are bad for poker for the reasons I stated previously. When Bob23bk stated about not realising the sites are businesses. This is fair enough but you must realise that if you break down the poker industry as a business and put it into the product life cycle then you'll see that poker has had to go through numerous changes to survive. First there was Draw poker, this went to Stud when the PLC (product life cycle) reached it's end. Then when stud began to die out Limit Holdem came in. Then NL Holdem. Now there are contenders to take over from NLHE. Chinese open faced poker for example. On top of that we have all sorts of costs to consider as poker players. Firstly, we pay rake... secondly we pay currency charges... then admin charges (which is my main problem with these sites). Now in the UK there has been studies carried out showing that poker is a game of skill and therefore taxable. So if you're a winning player at 2BB per hour you will now be a significant loser. If this is the case then the fish won't stay in the game, the regs will have the choice of drastically increasing their win rate or giving up the game.... This is not good for poker

Poker sites really know how to give you something, and how to take it away just as easy. Yes always read what it's all about. And at micro stakes, it's real hard to get 100 points.

That's sick man. There's always some trick in it. They know very well nobody got time to read all that fine print stuff.

Indeed, lesson learned. I controlled any tilt feelings and continued playing at my level just as well before I lost the 30$.
