I just bought a pre-paid visa from walgreens as suggested in a thread before. I tried to deposit on Stars and it was declined. When I called customer servise they said it was trying to go through for gambling and they would not allow it.
How are US customers deposting now adays

I called PokerStars and they said the best option would be an eCheck, which is essentially a direct transfer right from your bank.

It worked like a charm.

I had the same question so I emailed pocerstars 2 days ago to find out. And this is their latest update. Visit the site for locations in your area. I had brough a Vanilla Visa a week ago and that one did not work either. I am going to try the suggested "All Access Visa" this weekend:

I am sorry your deposit is not being easy, I hope this will help you get your deposit through.
Pre-paid cards have become a popular option for many players at PokerStars. At present, there are a limited number of pre-paid cards that are working for deposits. If you use any of these options to make a deposit at PokerStars you will be able to withdraw funds through a Cashier's Check which will be sent according to your instructions.
You can buy "All Access" pre-paid cards at many local stores or gas stations. Please visit https://www.netspend.com/account/index.m to obtain a list of locations near you where you can buy either a gift card or a re-loadable card.
The "All Access" re-loadable cards charge up to $1.00 for purchases made with it. When depositing with a re-loadable card, please try for $1.00 less, to account for this charge. There is no charge for purchases made with the gift cards, but they have some fees you may need to consider for balances remaining, phone enquiries and others. To find out more about their fees please visit: https://www.allaccessgift.com/gift/faq.m
Please keep in mind that in order to use these cards for online purchases they require activation, which can be done by calling the number on the back of the card or online at https://www.netspend.com/account/activation.m. It will take around 30 minutes for the card to become active.
**Note: Please keep in mind that the effectiveness of this gift card may
alter due to changing bank policies against online gaming transactions.
Thank you for your patience and loyalty to PokerStars.
For further deposit related assistance, please send your phone number and an appropriate time to call, to dad@pokerstars.com
Regards,
Luis GH

Hope this works!!!

I live in the USA and my debit card has always worked for whatever reason, a lot of friends have come to me to give me cash in person in exchange for a deposit and then transfer to their account on Full Tilt.

My debit card works for Stars too, doesn't for bodog anymore, but with their recent woes, I won't be putting any money in there anyways.

I have heard good things from the all access giftcards. Hope it works for you!
