I have just made a startling discovery.

Daniel Negreanu is Loose-Passive

Is'nt Losse-Passive the begginers style? Isn't it unprofitable?

Someone has to explain this guy for me.

I don't watch much TV poker due to the fact that they cut out a lot of the 'boring' hands.. But.. Daniel Negraneau is one of the best at reading people... That could explain it :joyman::joyman:

Where's the passive come from? I'm pretty sure he's loose aggressive, at least usually.

I love that guy. He'll tell you exactly what you have and play like he doesnt really believe it :D The only reason he isnt the best poker player ever is that he rely's on hs reads 100% and they are only about 85% acurate. But you gotta love watching him. Plus he talks so much trash but he's the nicest trash talker you'll ever meet.

I agree - Daniel Neg is Loose passive, and tends to call a lot rather than raise - especially when playing cash games ie. the high stakes series's - regarding this being unprofitable, I beleive that anyone can make any style work as long as their better than the other people at the table. Look at Gus Hansen, he is loose agressive, verging on maniac, but has two WPT titles and an EPT I think (not sure about wsop).

So if your good enough, you can make poor play profitable - if only I could!!!

Lol, what makes Gus Hanson good is that you never know what he's going to do. He probably has the highest IQ in all of poker but he always gets busted when it counts. His problem is that he plays pecentages instead of playing the other people at the table.

I still strongly disagree with the idea that Daniel Negreanu is loose passive. Loose, sure, but I feel there's confusion about the term passive as it applies to poker. Even if Daniel calls rather than raising more often than many other loose aggressive players, it is often either because he has a read that he's behind but has implied odds to go for a draw, or because he's setting the player up to pressure him later in the hand. He constantly puts pressure on his opponent, hence aggressive.

A loose passive player is considered loose because he's in a lot of hands, and passive because he rarely raises or bets on his own and will fold when pressure is put on them. This is not a description of Daniel Negreanu.

I don't think that Negreanu is loose passive either. I think loose aggressive is more his style but he appears loose passive because he's getting beat. He's been playing some great poker in the earlier series but has just been horribly outdrawn. I think as a result some of his play in the more recent episodes is a bit questionable. The guy should just take a break and come back with a fresh perspective. He's a very good player.
