I need opinions from all you members out there. This is a very important issue and it concerns how poker sites treat players.
About a week and a half ago i Emailed a question to the support staff at 888 Poker. The question was basically how long would it take for an account to be closed due to inactivity? I was asking because I wanted to know how long could I not play before my account was docked or closed, remember it was only a question. Well the next day when I tried to log on to my account I was surprised to see it had been shut down!!! I then immediately Emailed 888 support and inquired into what in hell was going on. Well, 4 days later, when they decided to reply they said that a support staffer had misread my Email and shut my account down. After another day before I could log in I logged on and discovered that all my status points were gone and I had been demoted from silver status to bronze status, no reasons, no explanation, just poof, done. So I Emailed back to support 888 Poker and asked them to correct their second mistake and now it's going on day 5 and they still have not bothered to respond! So I ask you all, "Does this sound like a company that has any respect for their customers/players"? All your feedback would be greatly appreciated because I am at a loss as to how I deal with this. Thanx everybody:mad: ....P.S. I have all the Emails saved if any body would like to see it.

This is a good reason why I remember the forum that I signed up thru that poker account. I would have that forum admin talk to the pokersite to sometimes get a faster response. I know different forums have gone to bat for me on issues I have needed resolved, and the mods take a keen interest if you used their links to download a pokersite.

In my experience Pokerstars in way ahead of any of the other sites in terms of customer service. Like you I had a bad experience with 888. Simple question but had to wait about 5 days, despite reminders, to get an answer which is a loose term because they did not really answer the question.

Good to know about this, I have an account on 888poker, but I rarely play there. There isn't much you can do, but when this kind of thing happens to me, I go to all forums that I'm registered and tell everybody about it.

I found the following paragraph in the 888 Poker User Agreement which addresses your question about account inactivity:
"Should you fail to use your account for six months your account will be considered a 'dormant account'. The six-month period will run from the date of your last login to your account. In the case of a dormant account, the Company will levy a monthly administration fee at a rate of 10% of the balance in the account on the date that it became dormant. The administration fee shall be deducted from the dormant account commencing from the last day of the sixth month in which the account is inactive and on the last day of every month thereafter, until the balance of the account has reached zero. In the event that you login to your account during the ten-month period during which the administration fee is levied, the Company will cease to levy the administration fee but shall not be obligated to return to you any monies already deducted from the account at such time."

I agree that the customer support at 888 poker seems rather slow. Both Pokerstars and party poker respond to my queries within one or two days at most.

How many people read the terms and conditions of any site before opening an account??? - Or are they in such a hurry to play, they simply accept the terms and go ahead and open an account??? Not all sites are the same, but they do have a provision for stagnant accounts.

I know that carbon deducts vip points after 3months of inactivity but they don't touch your real money.

Also I can't see the reasoning in charging an administration fee tbh - what administration do you need to do for an idle account ?

If they called it a non-administration fee it would sound more logical, lol (but would still be odd).

When it comes to customer support and many other things, Pokerstars is awesome.
No other support team can compare.
I do like Titan aswell, but dont ask them to much technical stuff, that can take a little bit longer.
