Heya CCers!

Tech Support Request!

I'm a linux user, I usually play on PS quite happily.

I have some free cash on Coral Poker, but their instant play client (in browser) is a total eyesore - playing a game is a gruesome headache!

Has anyone managed to get their client running under Wine? I've had some success, but thought I'd ask here before getting in touch with their support or giving up.... Yeah, giving up sounds about right!

Coral is on the ipoker network, it's the same client for all those in the group AFAIK.

Thanks in advance, but at the same time I'm not holding my breath!

Take care y'all ~

Install Coral Poker using Linux/Wine

Hi all ~

Okay, I solved the problems, so updating here for any others it might help.

Installed successfully on Debian 8 & 9

Wine Version: Wine 3.13, 32-bit WINEPREFIX

Windows version: Windows 10

Install components:
- mono
- Flash
- Internet Explorer 6

Libraries - DLL overrides:

-urlmon: set to (builtin, native) [from {native, builtin)]

The main hidden problem was the urlmon override. Hope that's helpful even though it's not a complete HowTo.

Have fun all,
Mr Skinny

Try installing a virtual machine, and in it - any version of Windows 7 or 10. Perhaps this is not the most beautiful option for a Linux user, but it definitely works.

How do you play on PS quite happily?
I was never happy with anything on wine.
For many years I had windowsXP in a virtual machine which was a perfect solution for everything.
It was much better than multiple partitions that required rebooting.
(though now XP is starting to get some dll errors when lazy developers have decided only to support newer versions requiring api's which they don't even use).
I still have the original win7 partition I had no choice about paying for when I bought the machine so I will probably have to try and incorporate that in to a VM when I get around to doing a rebuild.

I avoid this route as I've not owned a Windows licence for a long time. (And I wouldn't give Microsoft the kudos to steal their crap.)

Not sure if that's rhetorical, but it's a rather broad question to answer here. If you want feedback on this you're welcome to PM me.

Good luck with this! If you try this you'll need a tool to perform the the imaging, because Windoze hooks itself to the hardware (unless you know what you're doing ofc!). Microsoft's tools only work on Vista and later AFAIK, so I'd point you in the direction of VMWare vCenter Converter [https://www.vmware.com/support/converter/doc/conv_sa_60_rel_notes.html]

Could you specify please, where you set urlmon to (builtin, native) [from {native, builtin)]? In winetricks or winecfg?

..........
By now PS is the one that works the best for me under WINE. Almost flawless. Had some issues with The Deal but it works now, even though I don't use it.

That said and given that PS is the site with the toughest competition and worst rakeback, I'm keen on knowing how to get other sites to work. I was able to install Party but it had some flaws. It seemed to restart the window occasionally. 888 crashes always. I was about to start a thread by my own that I wanted to call The Poker Players' Linux User Group (PPLUG), where we could share such useful information like Mr Skinny gave. I don't know how big the demand is, but I've not found a comprehensive thread about Poker on Linux out there. Since I love this forum more than others, especially for its welcoming, friendly and supportive attitude (allthough ps (no, not Stars) delivers much more strategy content), I'd like to create such a "magnet". I think the attitude of CC and the FOSS-community go very well together. But after this got started, I wouldn't mind taking this thread to a new level, meaning I don't neccessarily have a thread started by myself. But I'd do so, if you, Mr Skinny, think, it would derail your thread and you want to limit it to Coral. I'm fine either way.

Edit: I'm a strong proponent of FOSS, so a vm with windump would be the last path to go for me, too.

Haven't got a thing to work though. Was my first attempt at wine under ubuntu bionic beaver...

I might take a whack at it again.

not savy enough to write for them the poker client for linux,
it'd be a nice option,
