Good idea. Free buffets, match bets.

I have a couple of casinos i play at and been playing at for years now they comp me with discounts on rooms to even better sometimes a 100% comp on rooms. I think it has something to do with the management for these are two tribal casinos in my state and at both places parts of the management teams have people i have went to school with and worked with in the past. This is also after i sit down with long sessions of play and after a room comp i play for another day. Not to often do i get a comp on the weekends though. Its always a good idea to ask the floor man or the dealer about comps and there polices on them they might have something that fits you and if they dont advertise them you never know unless you ask. Its always a good idea to be on a good re pore with the floor man i find this can get you placed at good tables where there are special people having a good time.

clearly, being on good terms with the poker room staff + management helps . be respectful to opponents and the dealers when at the table . occasionally sit awhile in a poor game to keep it going , or help start one when you might not normally join it . the floor people will notice , and may reward you in other ways .

In Vegas ... its kind of hard. But if you're at a higher end casino like Aria, Planet Hollywood, the Wynn, etc ... make sure to order Scotch, or a hard drink instead of water. All drinks are free, and those shots are like 8 bucks each !!! I must drink 40$ worth of free scotch at every table i play at =)

If your at a local casino like the Bike or Commerce ... just make sure you get a players card because you earn a dollar an hour. You can use the balance for food or stuff from their Gift Shops.

The management has been getting VERY stingy with their comps though ... the only free meal i ever got was when i had to wait 2 hours for a table, and the floorman felt so bad he asked me if i wanted a free meal. Bottom Line ... when in doubt ... COMPLAIN =D

good luck !

All comps are different depending on where you play. Here's some of Vegas Poker Room Cash Game info:
The Aria - comps vary based on the time you play. Food Comps only and it is separate from M-life.
Caesars (other TR properties too) - comps vary on when you play. You are rewarded TR credits as well as Tier Credits
The Golden Nugget Poker Room used to give you one $10 Food voucher for 4 hours of play a day good at The Grill and Buffet. However, I believe they were supposed to switch to a swipe system.

Biggest tip I can give you is to not be afraid to ask about comps and promos.
