hi all
i have been playing mostly on full tilt
although i have accounts with betfred and cdpoker.
i am up in all three sites (aprox $400+ overall).
i am working my way thru the micro's and practice strict BR.
anyway
i have never tried to clear bonus's
never tried rakeback
because i never really knew about them.
i am thinking of opening a pokerstars account
thru the cc link.
what should i be aware of when signing up
to a new site.
thanks for any info

Where are you from?

If its the US I would say PokerStars is your next best next to FTP

Outside the US, I would say PartPoker

EDIT : Also, what do you play and what stakes?

Merge is ok for rakeback, but having a RB account makes it really hard to earn a bonus if you are playing micros. I'm on a 35% RB deal that pays out every day, so lots of little additions to the account but it adds up over the month.

If you go with full tilt and use the CC link, I do not think you will be able to get rakeback, so if rakeback is something you want, you might want to look into it.
Pokerstars does not offer rakeback so would be good to use the link there.
Alot of players like Titan, and we have some good events there as long as you are not in the US.

you have to get rakeback, if you play quite a bit it makes a huge difference.

rakeback is still beneficial even if you dont play that often. Its basically a rebate which will help build your bankroll. If you type rakebackreferrals into google you will find some good sites to choose from when searching for rakeback deals.

If you don't have rakeback its probably best to play at pokerstars. If you play at FT and don't have rakeback you are wasting money. It doesn't matter if you are recreational or not.

Why are you wasting money by playing on Full Tilt if you don't have rakeback?

stick with FT, fwiw, and email support and see if you can get rakeback on your account, also check out rakeackpros.com who deal with FT rakeback. Be patient, it can take a while to get it, it took me a year:eek: and countless emails, but hopefully you'll get it sooner.

Because you can get rakeback at Full Tilt, which means if you dont get rakeback there you are missing out on cash. I signed up to Tilt through an affiliate so couldnt get rakeback, its the main reason I moved to Stars.

Is it worth the trouble to get rakeback added to an existing FT account?

If you don't mind me asking KerouacsDog, are you a cash table or tournament player, and about how many FTPs do you earn per month.

I mostly concerned how rackback effects Iron Man and Black Card cash bonuses.

it's always worth it, as it's free money.

Im mainly a mtt/sng player, but dabble at ring, but only micro stakes, 2c/5c ring, and $1-2 mtt/sngs.
Also, I dont get time to play much, so only get about $2 rakeback a week, but as I said, its free money.

As much as I prefer to play at FT I only play there because I get rakeback. If I did not get paid rakeback from FT I would not play there at all. FT offer the smallest percentage also in rakeback 27%, I guess they can because everyone wants to play there. Once you pregress to the low limits and not the micro limits you will be surprised at how much rakeback you can actually earn. In sit n go tournys having rakeback adds about 3% to your ROI. If FT are proving to be stubborn then type rakebackreferrals into google and choose another site to play on from there. Then once you have built your bankroll up to a high enough level approach FT and tell them you will deposit so much money if they give you rakeback. You gotta try and turn the tables on them if you can, they are the ones making all the money and us players need to collect all the free cash we can. Thats my opinion anyhow.

I've had accounts with PokerStars and bodog for years and did not know about rakebacks. Is it possible to now get rakebacks on existing accounts? Or is it only available when signing up for new accounts?
Thanks in advance for any info.

lennysmalls, I wouldn't have thought it possible but...

In a recent post titled, "Rakebacks & first time deposit bonuses at Carbon", a CarbonPoker Site Rep named CarbonAtil says:
If you have an account at CarbonPoker without rakeback, please let me know your username and I will add it to your account.
