I second this. Learning the fundamentals of your strategy online, then transferring it to live is probably a good strategy. Can't say from personal experience, but a break-even strategy online has gotta be profitable against recreationals and tourists.Depends on where you live. If you have good live games nearby you will be better off learning the game online then head to the live games.

I dont think the question is which one is best, but rather, which one can you be consistent on and build your bank roll....
And that is based on the individual. Some are better at online, others excel live. I think I am a better live player, especially in tournaments, but online usually has smaller buy ins.
Depends where your skills lay. There are live players that would get crushed in the same games online and vice-versa. Maybe you have more of an edge reading your opponents in person than you do online, or maybe others can say the same about you.
The only way you can really 'find out' is to try it yourself and record the data over a large sample size. Really no other way about it.
In theory, if you are equally profitable at an online or live table, then you may be inclined to play online out of convenience, and the ability to play multiple tables at one time.
Online is tougher than live, but live is slower and more rake.
I am in California. Any software you would recommend
ACR and Betonline are decent options that I think you can play in your state.
Why tougher. more grinders or is the way the site has the cards to be dealt. Since i am new i feel some kind aware about sites been rigged or if they can see your cards.
Holdem Manager 2 or some variation of it, someone on this site has made a new program lately and there is also Poker Tracker 4. I would also recommend leakbuster for micro players, where what I would call it is the cheapest form of coaching you can get. I'm sure some people would recommend more, but as for the very basic level I would highly recommend that.okay cool any other. how about software ?

Depends on how much you want to spend but PT4 and HM2 both have 30 day free trials so you can see which one you like before you buy. Also you can check out twitch and look for tonka and jcarver they both are very good for learning the tournament game.
Players are way more educated and knowledgeable in general. Also everyone, but the fish have tracking software as well. Generally when someone thinks online poker is rigged the reality is the player is simply not as good as they think they are.

I guess one thing that hasn't been stated and is clearly an issue for some people is gambling in general, if you have an issue with that I would avoid the Casino at all costs if possible.
okay, How about action, grinders, and bad players along with drinking ones. would that be my first choice live or do you have all type online too i only play live a little not online.
