Cash games vs Tournaments and the Casinos cut
I am predominately a cash game player but also play plenty of tourneys so what I have noticed for the same amount of money To play the same amount of hours I have noticed that online and in live casinos
is that the casino gets more money off you from rakeing the cash games then form hosting the tournaments. for example, I go to play a tourney with a buy in of $100 the tourney will last about 4 hours, I pay my buy in plus the money for the casino to host as opposed to taking my hundred and playing for about 4 hours at the cash games, I have noticed the casino gets much more of my money for hosting me for 4 hours at the cash games through the rake then they do than from my fee to host me play the tourney for 4 hours.. although this irritates me I do better at the cash games then the tourneys so I continue to play cash.. but in a way it angers me and I would like to know what others have noticed, I normally get to the end of tourneys so the people who bust right out and only get to play for under an hour are why this balances out i guess as they payed more to be hosted for less time.. but I find this discrepancy online and live as well so its free to host me online. I also seem to get comped much better at live cash games then live tourneys leading me to believe they make more money off the cash games. I will have a waitress bringing me whatever I need in cash games but have to wait hours for a drink in the tourneys.
Just my thoughts what do you notice, as if you were a strictly break even player, where could you play longer and for the same money. As I am more profitable playing cash games its worth it to me to deal with this and just play but it is slightly irritating.
