It is an easy download and setup and has 4 freeroll tournements a day for the first 30 days of your membership. They pay money ($50 total) marked as (freeroll winnings), whatever that means.

Each tourney starts you with 1,000 chips as opposed to the 1500 the other major sites use. This means you will put in more money over time and that is the major fly in their ointment as far as I'm concerned.

Other minor things that are purely mechanical problems with changing tables during the tournements and having to reset your preferences each time. Nit picking on my part but then I do like the graphics.

I think over time the management will see the errors of their ways and correct there chip load to equal the competitors. Worth a try.

I found out about Carbon's 'freeroll winnings.' Even tho we made an initial deposit of $200.00...when my boyfriend won their first depositor's freeroll (only $150) we had no idea he couldn't use it till he'd played a certain amount of money there. We played some video poker and got quite a few points from playing it. We were COMPLETELY UNAWARE that you couldn't spend the freeroll winnings until you played to a certain point. But one day he opend the software and there was a popup window saying they had released his freeroll winnings. I play at thier sister site, pokercs.com (found them first) and have never had any freeroll winnings. But I've won money from real $ games and could spend it, anytime, there.

I figured the fact that the freeroll winnings were marked as such that they were probably not usable until a deposit is made. They seem to be that way -- They won't see my money until the chip load is changed to equal sites like AbsolutePoker, pokerstars and FullTilt. I'll have to look at pokercs.com and see what is up there.

I'd like to add: The freeroll is a $50.00 total with first place gets "$15.00 (Freeroll Winnings)" -- I haven't read the fine print but if the depositor freeroll mentioned by pkrplr4116 prior, then surely the new player freeroll would be the same.

I don't intend for this to sound rude, and if I've upset you, I'm sorry; it's not my intent. But you need to reread my original post. We'd made a $200.00 deposit BEFORE he won the 1st Depositors' Freeroll. Even tho, his deposit was made BEFORE the win, apparently the $$ wasn't his to use, until he'd play to a certain point in comp points or whatever. Pokercs.com is the sister site to Carbon, and it's the same way, there, too

The "freeroll winnings" are released after you've earned the requisire number of comp points. It's the same as getting your deposit bonuses released, based on comp points earned.

No problem here, I fully understood your message and I knew some poker sites require you to spend X$'s before you can use your freeroll winnings. It does seem pickyunish to do this to small rollers.

Thanks for clarifying your situation for other reader that are interested in those two poker sites.

I don't know what goes on in all poker sites, but I guess based on reglardav's post that it would not be unusual for most places to put some kind of a limit on when you can use your freeroll winnings. As I mentioned earlier the 1000 chip-load is the buggaboo in CarbonPoker's site and I,m not inclined to put money there because of that, not the freeroll winning usage.

I think you fellows are both right! Luckily, on my pokercs.com acct, I'd long ago reached that milestone! LOL. Sad, but true.

i would not recommend carbon poker to anybody, the traffic on there is low the promo's have strings attached and it is not special to look at, to deposit on there you have to go through 2 to 3 verifications and then it times out and you have to start all over it is terrible
