I noticed that they did away with the VIP Daily cash rebates, starting this month. On the FAQ it states "Your rebates are now paid via points for cash exchange only." They had points for cash exchanges before also - so they effectively dropped one of their member benefits.

Yeah they are doing an overhaul on their VIP rewards program. I think I read somewhere that they are going to be offering more bonuses in forms of various freerolls and what not..

Perfect example.. "last man standing"

I'I agree Wushu. I'd much rather have cash than gimmick promotions.

Def not a good change but us Americans are pretty limited for options to play. If you were in the habit of using your points for tourneys etc you might want to reconsider and just use them for cash exchange. I think I'll earn about 10k points this month which I can cash for 250 as an ether.

Rakeback is where you receive a % of the rake back in each hand you are in for cash games and % of fees paid for tourney fees paid. Usually 25-35% but can be higher. Do a search online for rakeback deals at online poker sites. They will usually give a code to use when you sign up for a site. If you already have an account with a poker site, it may be difficult or impossible to get the rakeback however.

Rakeback been gone for a while now. But to take away the cash rebate is ridiculous. The VIP Tier mean nothing now. No wonder merge is going down hill

Kahn, the quote in the initial post came directly from the FAQ on the carbon site.

Or maybe you didn't understand that I was talking about -bthe daily rebates that went away. What's left is the points for cash. What was there before was the daily rebates plus the points for cash.

Cash rebates are not gone by any means. That is false information. You trade your points in for cash, as they were always best used on the VIP program.

Correct, DAILY cash rebates are no more. However, players can still cash in VIP points for cash, anywhere from 3-5x per month depending on what VIP tier one is in.

You can cash in points for cash based on the VIP tier you are in, see the link in my quoted post above.

This isn't true. Rakeback players, yes, many of them lost value. However, in general, rakeback players are a small portion of the player base. Most recreational players do better on the new VIP program b/c the requirements for the tiers were dropped. Myself, as a high volume player there, did have a reduction in value b/c the highest tier went from 45% back to 35% back. Small price to pay for fishy games in my opinion. :)

The US rooms shutting their doors is very unlikely any time soon.
