New schedule and structure for October 1st, advertised as 10 million in monthly guarantees - lots of small guarantees on micro-lowstakes set to go off every hour, some aren't meeting min. players to start so far.

3k stacks, 30-40-60-80-100 (antes begin) starting blinds, 10 min levels is the new standard. 2k stacks and 5k add-ons for rebuys.

Just noticed some other interesting things.

No public freerolls...all the freerolls seem to have Sponser names.. Neither Cardschat games, nor my HORSE Races are listed at this point.

My favorite game, the $2.20 HORSE game in the morning (for me) now has a guarantee ($50), starts 5 minutes later, and is a re-entry tourney, which means (I guess) late registration. For me, this is good news as getting up early to be awake enough to play it, in the winter is uncomfortable at best.

There are also listed several new HORSE games throughout the day.

And I have just begun looking.....

May start playing there again when I have more time since weather is getting too cold to ride as much. Thx for this update. Wally

They also seem to have dropped all the non HORSE mixed games which were on HA and HO (Holdem-Omaha, Holdem-O8).

They increased the starting stacks, but also dropped the lowest levels in the structure, which ='s a faster game actually.

On one hand, I don't like it. The early games were the last remaining 'hey lest throw a tourney and see who shows up' games for us Americans. No rebuys, no late reg, and no guarantee. Very pure structure that was.

Now with re-entry and late registration, the game looks more appealing, but really is less appealing on several levels.

Looking at some of the late registrations, 3 hours 45 minutes, seems a bit insane.

A tourney that starts at 8:00 has late reg end at 11:45, crazy, IMO

Maybe there was a lot of favorable response to the Poker Maximus format. Maybe it's an attempt to try something different to pull in some revenue [the changes over the last 6 months related to rakeback and VIP and freerolls suggest something like that to me].

Whatever the reason, especially in mircostakes, it pushes the experience more to a cash game for a longer period and stretches the game out

Late registrations are good and bad at the end people are filling up the prize pool with little to no chance of winning, the bad is it makes the tournament last longer.

Last week they only hosted 2 HORSE games per day, one for $2+ and another for $10+.

Now they are showing 6 per day, and have added $5+ games. I'm in heaven.:D

For at least this week, only the regularly scheduled games are (IMHO) gonna cover the guarantees. Overlay City. By the end of the week I expect everyone (all the HORSE regs) will see the new game times and covering the guarantees won't be hard.

Depending on the structure, Im not totally opposed to entering late into MTTs.
Here in Nevada Ultimate Poker runs $10 MTTs every hour or so with 60 minute late reg, 3k stacks and 10 min levels.

I often get in just before late reg is over with maybe 15 of 25 players remaining. I routinely take these down for better than a buck fifty on avg.

Yes, there is some agg play required through the first double up till the play levels out but if you have a good "end game", its profitable.

The structure has improved. The guarantees suck at the micro level though. The $1 rebuy use to be between $250 up to 1K guarantee now it is $100? All the micro rebuy games are about a tenth the guarantee they use to be. I heard some of the skins have been segregated. WEAK MERGE!

The change is great for me, with more HORSE tourneys each day. I got lucky the first few days with some cashes in overlayed tourneys.

By Thursday they had dropped the guarantees in most of their tourneys to be more realistic. Darn, but I don't mind. Overlays should be rare.

I would love seeing a speed game at Merge, along the lines of Rush, Zoom, and Zone.
