I referred a friend to carbon poker, however they were not able to sign-up. From what I have heard new sign-ups are not allowed but previous US players are still allowed to play. Does anyone know when new sign-ups will be allowed?

CarbonPoker At this time, that is correct. We will be opening ourselves back up, but at the moment, only existing US players will be able to play.

Reading that they've stopped for now to get caught up with all the new players coming to Merge from the US. But why only suspend new player from US?

I just hope things get back to normal soon. Would hate to think we're teo years away from getting FT and PS back in the US.

Yeah, I hope things can get up and running soon, even thought its still hard to have any trust in the US online poker industry.

Their thoughts are that things are backed up now so until they catch up with current registrations and membership, they will not allow any more U.S. players.

I honestly think that they are concerned over legal action against them. It is possible that they have a staff shortfall but realistically, the software should be pretty self-sufficient. I imagine that once things calm down on the legal side of online poker, Carbon will open their doors again.

Here's hoping this all gets resolved soon.

Merge is temporarily suspend accepting U.S. players is what is said to be a 3-4 week period in an effort to help them get caught up on the management of new players coming to the network. It is said that there are not enough trained support staff to handle the number of players coming to the network and that should enable them to train staff effectively.

Personally I think that another factor is that there is not enough processing in place to presently support the numbers. There is a record number of declined deposit attempts and I just don't think they have the processors in place to support the numbers and have to regroup.

If you already have a Merge account this will be of no effect to you at all
