Carbon Poker Strange Login...... Virus????

I have my carbon poker client set so that it saves my username but I still have to put my password in. Today when I opened the client, a little box with some american and some chinese?? lettering popped up, asking for a password. I closed it out but, my carbon poker client just kept trying to get a connection. So, I got a little paranoid about it and closed out Carbon Poker, then ran my anti virus software. However, anti virus did not find anything. I shut the computer off and left it off for a few hours. I started it up and opened Carbon Poker, everything came up as normal but, my username is not on the screen, the way it has been for the past 3 years when I open poker client. Maybe I am being a little paranoid but, I am a little scared to log on now. Anyone else ever have anything like this happen? Anywhere? Poker Client or otherwise? Advice?
Thanks for any help!

Really? Did you get a screenshot of it? I'd like to see what it said & then translate it.

I haven't had the login issue before but I had the same issue with the username not appearing on the login screen or at the table, however it was at BetOnline. Not only was my name not coming up but I couldn't get to help through the client page or play a hand and was auto folded. Thank god the only thing I was in was a freeroll I had registered for earlier. When I went online to the live help they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They told me to do three things, clear all the cookies, uninstall and reinstall the software, and something else that I can't remember at the moment. None of the three things they told me to uninstall it and turn the computer off for a couple of hours then reinstall and that worked. Something you may want to try if you are still having the same problems today.

I would recommend uninstalling the client, running CCleaner (on both files and registry), shutdown for a couple of minutes, then re-install the client.

Chances are Carbon had some screwed up login pages that loaded on you, but I wouldn't take that chance.

To answer my own question from post #3, I got the same thing when I went to login today for the CC $3.30 buy-in.

Here is a pic...

Not sure what it is either, but it's not a virus. Maybe someone knows...

This completely different. (also... not sure what benefit keeping computer turned off for a couple of hours would do? If you reboot wouldn't that be enough??)

I kept it on my screen, then copy-pasted it in segments to google translate but it wasn't able to read it (I tired small portions of it & tried to get the entire thing but it was actually quite large (many, many lines of text)).

This happened immediately after the recent software update upon re-start of the client.

I too was hesitant to start it up when I saw it but then after attempting the google translate thing I just said the fk with it.

Nothing weird. Unless you consider a poker site weird.

Ask the OP the same question because this originally happened to him. He might've.

I thought your post was the OP
I suppose if two people have the same thing, it's okay?

This is not like Chinese but looks like some foreign language pack did not correct installed in you Windows.

PS: i play Final Fantasy - Japanese version, shows the same mess up words like this.

think you may have some program protect your password, and this program does not belong to Carbon but belong to your windows.

Not sure what this is. When I first read this post a few days ago, and considering it was the OP 1st post, I wasn't sure quite what to make of it... After reading others have had it happen, I was less skeptical but still worried that I might have it happen to me too. Fortunately, it hasn't happened to me. But I was playing at a friend's house yesterday, and he hadn't opened the poker client in a week so.. When it downloaded the new version, he got this same page with the Chinese looking writing. Not sure why it's happening to some players, and not to others... Myabe it's Carbon turning off the doom switch? :D If so, they can certainly do it to my account! Bring on the funky writing!:p

You're okay. Its not Chinese and it is not a hack. It is the server missing a font and putting in something akin to dingbats to make up for it. Somebody missed something on their update. Send the pic to their support and it'll get taken care of.
