I may be just on a hot streak, but I have found the competition so
much softer than at PS or FT. I am playing fewer hands than I did at
FT or PS, but I am winning a lot more.

In less than two months there, I’ve almost doubled my initial deposit
in ring games alone. I won $70 in the initial depositor freerolls, and
have won a little over $48 in ring games (initial deposit was $50)—I
play the lowest stake and only play one table at a time, and I am
averaging probably around 70-80 hands or less per day. I’ve only had
about 3 bad days whereas on FT and PS I routinely had downswings lasting weeks.

People there are mostly loose passive, and some will stack off with
ace rags preflop, and most won’t even lay down mid-pair. And at least so far, the bad beats do not occur nearly as frequently on Carbon as they do at FT (especially) and PS.

Only downside is that table selection is limited due to fewer players,
but that’s not really a big deal; every table has a 50% player to flop
ratio or worse.

Full Tilt was the only site I played at. But then I re-installed Carbon Poker to watch naruto_miu play tourneys, and I still didn't really play anything because I had no bankroll. But now that I have $5 (From the CC freeroll) I will be able to play real money games instead of nonstop freerolls on that site.

Thanks, good luck to you also. I think you'll get a nice win here soon. And either way, win or lose, I still like watching you play. ;)

I tried the Carbon regular freeroll for the first time yesterday. 3500+ entrants, but only top 10 cash. To me it’s not worth the effort. Maybe I’ll play it while playing on the cash ring games… but it distracts me and I don’t like the shovefest and luck involved. With ABC poker in ring games, you should do well. Last night I had a horrible run with cards, simply hit nothing. All the pots I won were with bluffs/semi-bluffs. Still only lost a dollar. The opponents generally don’t punish you hard enough for mistakes.

Glad to hear that you are doing well on Carbon. I like it as a site and have always found it to be pretty fair. I am not a believer in the rigged theory we keep hearing about on FT and other sites but in my experience there does seem to be less bad beats on Carbon than most other sites.

What are you talking about...I play on Carbon Every-day, Majority of the times, Multi-table the Tourneys, and Must say Carbon is just as Bad As FT, PP, PS, and any-other site out there :)) I know I'm on the Shit end of it most of the times)....

Carbon poker rocks hard

Well, here is my story, I started with a zero bankroll than I played their freeroll ( Best freeroll ever). I won 4 dollar in their freeroll and never look back. My bankroll is currently at $150, most from playing their SNG Double up. Easy with less bad beat. Try it. CARBON POKER FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I jinxed myself. Have had losing days two out of three. But still only down $2 or so overall. Last night, I sat at three tables. Net loss at every table. Had AK twice, AQ once last night in position. Lost all three. Showed down with the guy who beat me with A8. But folded on the river on the other 2. Luckily didn't lose big pots with any of them. Flopped a straight once, only to have the other guy tie me. Then flopped top two pair, only to have the other guy hit runner runner queens and beat me with 2 pairs and better kicker (I had J7, he had J9). Still, on a bad day like that, I could have been eaten up at PS.

Why not play in the 1500 or 2500 GTD tourneys (Freeze out):) ...Better pay and worser play and big BR boost

I too will vouch for Carbon now..started with a free roll win of $4.. and have only played a couple fast 50s. Lost one, placed first in 2, up to $7ish now.

What are GTD tourneys?

Been sticking to just ring games and occasional freerolls.

Since I created this post, I am down $6 LOL. Thats a pretty bad swing for me since I dont play a lot. Just been card dead of late. Hitting air with almost every flop.

Almost had another losing day today. Made one bad mistake when I put the guy on a big overpair but still tilted away my stack with pocket tens.

But was able to recover and end up in the green thanks to a guy worse than me.

He called my 4xbb UTG preflop (I had AK) raise with 67 suited (hearts) from the button. Flop's 89K with 2 spades. I bet 25 into a 38 cent pot. He calls. 3d hits on the turn. I decided to just shove my remaining $2.80, and he called. None of his 8 outs land on the river and I ended up winning $1 for the end.

Perhaps not a great shove cuz most of the time I am behind if I get called there, but I was so sick of getting beat on the river I decided to just ship it. Thank god for Carbon Poker. LOL. Most players fold there.

I'll try it

I have never tried Carbon poker. After reading all the posts, I am going to download the site and check it out and see what freerolls they have. Thanks for the info.

The Free-Rolls there are really hard to cash in because they pay the top 10 Irregardless of number of Entrants, yet the Bright-side to it is though that they pay very nicely....60 for first in the 200 GTD ones, 30 for the 100GTD ones, and 15 for the 50GTDs ones, all are based the same way top 10..Gl

I much rather play the cash games given the soft competition-guys routinely call any raise with weak hands. It’s really hard to make the top 10 if there are 3000+ entrants. I don’t care how good a player you are. Luck will play a huge role in these freerolls.

I managed to make the final table 3 times out of 9 tries in the initial depositor freerolls, but there were less than 200 entrants everytime. With 15-20 times more entrants… I don’t think it’s worth my time. If I played, I would just shove a few times early on and hope to get lucky. Otherwise, I might end up sitting there for 2 hours only to end up with nothing.

I've never deposited on Carbon but will probably have to in order to transfer &/or withdrawl. I've got a few bucks on there now but have hardly ever played on the site. It still just feels like Monopoly money to me.. on that site. idk.. not really into it. (I haven't played many of the reg. games on there, or any ring games... just a few priv. tourneys)
