I've been having this same problem the last few days... Had to switch to my back-up comp... Downloading & re-installing originally didn't seem to help.... Will try again now. Hopefully they've gotten their updates "down" by now...

Yep, had that few times. Just restarted client and it was fine. I'm sure it'll get fixed in one of the updates soon.

I also had this problem yesterday playing a MTT appeared several times this error message, the software hangs and i have to restart the software to play, this message usually appears when i tried to press the button "Rabbit", after a while i managed to play, however, appeared another error message, but the software does not fought over, only the message appeared i clicked on "OK" and continued to play.

I will uninstall and reinstall the software as recommended here on the topic. :)

Nope... Just uninstalled and reinstalled and it happened again after viewing a table and upon leaving. I'm going to take a deeper look into the error messages. I already have the latest jvm installed and the client worked perfectly before the Merge Update... Is the client using some sort of proprietary version of Java that is not compatible with certain systems? I only ask because when I google some of the error messages I come up with references that could lead here: http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html

Merge have just had a major software update and now many of us are experiencing minor problems with their software.
I'm not sure why you would see this as something you need to personally address.
You could inform the site in question of the problems you are having but I'm pretty sure that many people will have already done so.
They keep releasing minor updates to rectify the teething problems and I am quite sure a fix will be provided in due course.

I use to get that with the old client after I bought a new computer with Windows7. Was told to run the clients as administrator, and that worked.

I'll personally address it as it relates to my main machine because the client works on one machine and not the other. Maybe there's something the client is not compatible with until they make updates... Make sense?

Samango... This one's for you chief... Problem personally addressed... I fixed my issue completely from my end anyway.

Checked the errors I was getting and ran a few simple tools against both machines and found that the jscript.dll files within the windows\system32 folders were different. On the computer that worked, the dll file was newer. It may have came from some sort of recent install with another program that I wasn't aware of or maybe some unforseen windows update itself... who knows...

Copied the newer jscript.dll file to machine with merge errors and I've been playing Carbon + HUD the last few hours to test (before posting to any that this might help) w/o any errors or lag whatsoever. The old jscript.dll was v23141 and the newer dll is v23259.

To copy over jscript.dll though, I had to shut down the machine and go through dos(safe mode might work tho'... idk) because of it being a system file, it has got to be copied to the windows\system32 folder and the windows\system32 \dllcache folder because if not, the machine will just replace the copied file with the original version...

Had I waited for Carbon to rectify the problem... how did you phrase it? "like everybody else", Samango, they wouldn't have been able to because when they did the update it may/may not have been apparent that everyone might not have exactly the same dlls that seems to be needed to run the new update... They can fix their client, but not my machine if they're no longer compatible. The dlls are the exact same size just different versions(and obv slightly diff coding...) and would explain why the client crashes randomly for diff people...

I hope this can help someone... If not, I tried anyway... It worked for me beautifully(got rid of the jet runtime errors, out of memory errors and random client crashes...) May still be other problems, but this helped me with at least some/most of them...

I would've tried updating Java instead of copying .dlls, but if it works it works I guess. Off to work but Ill update java later and see.

DOS???! You still running windows 98 or something?

I accessed the Oracle web site and did a check on the version of Java installed and enjoyed and updated for the new version of Java, i entered the Carbon Poker software and apparently had no more problems yesterday.

I played two sit & go tournaments, and all is working well, at least for now ...

it's really nothing you can fix, I had the same problem also, it has nothing to do with your comp or updates, it's indeed the software update, just going to have to wait for merge to fix it

jscript.dll is a dll file from Microsoft and update Java fron Oracle will not change jscript.dll.
jscript.dll is a system file and is in use when window is running thus can only be replaced when it is not in use ie. in dos mode.

Sorry I should have mentioned this... I'm stll running XP... It's because I have older machines... If you decide to do a manual replace, Rename your old jscript.dll (like to _jscript.dll, jscript.old, etc...), Do not write over the old dll, so that you can undo these steps if the replacement does not work... it may...it may not... Sorry twice, I should have mentioned this before...

One in every crowd...

Please take Samango's advice and wait for the update... I really don't care what you do... I'd rather play on Carbon now... Which is, what I'm doing now... And w/ no problems to boot...

Use some logic and explain to me though why their updates worked perfectly on one machine and not on the other and you tell me where you think the problem lies...

Good stuff, I did the update originally for Java but it didn't take. But that had been days before... At least we know where the problem lies and in the end that's all that matters...The Java Update is def. the way to go... Thing is being proactive I guess, hate just sitting around...:)

TYVM 'Chris..., +1
Didn't want to mention this above... glad you understand... just hate repeating what has worked... They'll find out, but have some general direction at least... When Merge does finally get the jscript thing resolved I can just go back and replace the orig dll. This is like a "quickfix" for me, for now...

Glad you got it fixed.
Still not sure why your so riled by my post, it wasn't a personal attack on you, obviously I wasn't aware that you were only experiencing the problem on one machine.
I had this problem too and so have many others, but it seems to have stopped for me now.

Realized jscript was a windows javascript file when looking it up. Still updated windows, flash and java and the Guaranteed tournaments schedule in lobby now shows up instead of blank white. Not sure if the out of memory error is gone as it didnt happen much.
Don't have another XP computer laying around to copy the jscript over since I play poker on a XP virtual machine on my linux laptop.

*So everyone thats having these issues still running XP?

I have heard the jet time error can be fixed by downloading or updating your quick time program.
I don't have the issue, but have seen several say it fixed it for them

Haven't had this issue and don't have quicktime installed at all.

Suit2Please, make no changes w/ my original advice/testing...

Take Pooffy's advice... I spent a few hours today still syncing up the differences in my systems: Still had gotten "out of memory" errors later although the program did not crash. Rolled back to the original dll file to start over...

Increased Page Memory
Copied Carbon folder to other machine
Rolled back Java Updates and reinstalled clean
Checked LSPs that may be in conflict because of Anti-Virus programs
+ a variety of others...

Nothing worked until I found the only thing dealing w/ graphics/video that wasn't upated was QuickTime. Updated to latest 7.7.2 pro and Absolutely no more problems. I guess the whole point was that for the Merge updates to work on some machines and not others you would think the problem might be with the machine...

Don't know where you got your facts from Pooffy, but you are on the money...:congrats:
