hey guys. new to the site, hope everyone is well. i have to bring up my experience with carbon poker. I have the wildest time playing on that site since about a little less than a year ago. I have been playing poker for about 2-3 years and have watched my game mature over the years to the point where i feel that in any live game at the casino ill walk out up 100-300 ish after a few hours of playing roughly 55-67 or so percent of the time. i'm just ball parking. I got into carbon about a year ago since i live in the states and in the beginning i would get demolished. I had one good heater where i turned 10 bucks in a .10 .25 game into 230, and since then it has all been down hill. i don't mean to come on here and rant, and maybe this complaining rubs people the wrong way but im looking to see if anyone else has had a strange experience with them? im not saying that anything is rigged like some people say but im not saying its definitely not. i've switched up my strategy numerous times and it would seem like it works then a couple days later nope. tonight i gave it another shot, hopped into a 25. .50 and got taken. i have the roll, but it is coming off of there asap. had AJ off, board came AKQ, villain bet i raised he called, turn came the J i bet 3 he called, river i shoved for the rest of my stack and he flipped over jacks. now i know his is normal, but to me on carbon it seems abnormal. the fact that the flop contains all cards that i could pair with to make me many stronger hands than his jacks and he continues to play seems strange. maybe people seem to stick around a hand when they think their beat just because it seems the suck outs always happen? it constantly seems as if merge influences players to bet, putting appetizing cards on the board and in players hands knowing they're going to go at it thus generating rake. i have felt like this time after time. i cant stand people that whine bu after tonight and deciding to wash my hands of carbon i just felt like throwing this out there. this is just my opinion

Nice job on your live play! That's definitely a good thing that you have going on. Making that kind of money live in a couple of hours.. I typically do well but never a guarantee. Keep it up ! = )

I think you might be comparing two completely different styles of poker players when talking about online vs live play. We've all had hands that stick and frustrate us; especially when it's for our entire roll. I know from first hand experience that I see far more hands that upset me online than live because I simply play more hands.

I suggest trying to work on you online play more with continuing your live play that is certainly profitable! There is a lot of good advice to gain through CC that can help your online play improve. Keep your chin up! = )

thanks and yes my results at the casino aside from the beginning of my poker grind have been very positive, its just easier to log onto a site and play than head to the casino. i just cant believe most of the shit i see online. im going to try a new site just to see if my experience is any different

sounds like a sample size issue, if your game is solid just play more- you should be that much closer to the sunny side of variance

I agree. The sample size is much to small to conclude anything. Live player is at higher stakes and where I play with a larger opening bet (5 to 8 BBs). One can easily dink a couple of buy-ins in a night.

Alos the styles required to play one line low stakes and $1/$2 live are different. Many more agro players on line, which increases the variance..

very true. i haven't played in the casino for some time now and am missing the hell out of i, but am more focused on finding a site that i can get cozy with. Can someone tell me if americas cardroom with their rake back is a good site to go with, and where exactly to sign up with the rake back option?

Ever since the last time I took some money out, I've been on a 5, now almost 6 month losing streak. I've never had a run like this before. I can grind and grind to build up a small profit, and then get it all in ahead 90%+ of the time, but almost always lose to 5 outters or less.

I am now down to $20. Not even enough to risk buy in full on the 4NL tables.

Could be a really bad run, but I have been a winning player on every site I've played. I am not a great player by any means, but good enough to beat 4NL.
