Right after registering for a SNG, they cancelled it and all the $1.10 and $2.20 SNGs are now $1.50 and $3.50. Looks like they changed the other stakes too

Any idea if they plan on carrying this over to tourney buyins as well?

Wow. I just checked two merge sites. Yes. They raised SNG to $1.50 minimum.

Carbon is such a joke anymore! No rakeback and now this?? lol... I'll never deposit there again until they give us some incentive!

they are basically following stars buyins for stt's now then....kinda crappy i thought it was decen that they had two diff buyins <3$.......wonder did they up their rake % in the process and did this to cover :D

edit: nope looks like rake is same from what i can see, not a horrible change really if it means the 2.2 players will be playing the 3.5's but most likely it might be an in between where some 5.5 drop to 3.5 and some 2.2 drop to 1.5 or go to 3.5. Thing that seems to suck is how they make such drastic changes without any announcement at all.....would be alright if they had some kind of vip or rakeback system but don't imagine they have any plans on bringing any of it back.

It's going to make it super tough to get on the sharkscope (micro stakes) leaderboards as the new levels fall well inside the ranges on in the case of under $2 - well below the cutoff.

I'd be tickled to see most prime time tournament buyins below say 3.30 gone, and more deep offerings from 5-15 dollars across the industry personally. I wouldn't totally get rid of offerings under 3.30s, but I would make it hard for someone to rely on them as a source of their poker entertainment.

People need to realize that poker is a hobby, and all hobbies have costs associated with them. While its nice to pretend everyone can start with freerolls and maybe only depositing 50 to 100 bucks the reality of today's poker world is something much different. Most people are going to need to plan on depositing 200/300/500 dollars (over time) before really being competitive and being able to plan on being a B/E player at stakes like 10NL and 5 dollar tournies. Now, that wasn't the case closer to the boom, but there are a lot of competent NLH players even at microstakes these days.

Like craft Beer, you'll pay a decent amount to drink it.

Like movies, you'll pay a decent amount for blue rays, redbox and access to premium streaming sites.

Like live music, plan on dumping a few hundo a yr on tickets to see good acts live.

Poker needs to get out of the habit of telling new players that they don't need to plan on spending/investing a relatively comparable amount to enjoy the game we all love. Deposits are necessary to keep the game going for everyone and no one should feel ashamed because they deposit a decent bit at the beginning of their poker career.

protest merge and ACR

goto betonline but beware they often have their servers drop you out of their network ...and often its hard to sign back on....but they have many many 5c games and low buy in MMTs ....but lots less players .....i dont see them getting big until they resolve their server problems.....BETONLINE.COM

There are currently 25 tables of 2 cent/ 4 cent running on Merge....

That would be your best bet on scraping up a roll from less than a hundred bucks online.

There also seem to be plenty of donkament offerings under 10 bucks all night......I don't have a copy of the schedule as it was before, but they still have several large GTDs for players wishing to play under 10 bucks.

I am not sure what the problem is....

If someone could do a side by side with tonights schedule as opposed to yesterday night's schedule I would be ready to look and see if I am wrong, but right now I don't see MAJOR changes.

OMG! How terrible! It looks like they've increased their guarantees on some of their tournaments (again!).
ie. Sunday Big $11 is now $20,000 gtd. (Big $33 is now $20k gtd. too)

They've gone up a few times now in the past while. I'd say that's good sign.
