Not real clear on exactly what this is...? The VIP programs have daily cashback rebates starting at 6% for the first tier. Is this essentially rakeback or is it something else? I did set up rakeback there, I assume this would be in addition to any outside rakeback deals?

Thanks!

Could be wrong on this, but my take on things is that Carbon doesn't offer rakeback deals anymore. What you get with the new VIP system is a small percentage returned to you directly each day in the form of a VIP "rebate" ( or rakeback;) ), plus the ability to sell your accrued VIP points for more cash back through their store. Think of the old (well, for us in the US anyway) Stars program where you could "buy" money with your acquired VPP points.

It seems like Carbon's program is pretty-much a hybrid of that (Stars VPP program) with a small amount of direct rake-back paid daily.

Thanks for the reply Rudy... By the way, for some weird reason it won't let me link straight to the page I want to...so click the link on the left that says "Benefits".

I was actually able to setup rakeback through an outside affiliate I've used before and more than a few places still seem to be offering it for Carbon. If you notice maybe halfway down the page linked it says the Points for Cash exchange is not available to players with a rakeback deal. However that's not exactly what I'm asking about.

What I'm trying to figure out is what the daily cash back % is talking about... I think it's describing essentially a rakeback (ie the Earth tier 6% would essentially be 6% of rake paid that day refunded?). I think that's what it is, was just trying to confirm.

If you have a rb deal you don't get any of those extras.

Boo, I was hoping it would essentially increase the rakeback % with each tier up in addition to my outside deal. Oh well!

Thanks WV

Sorry for the bit of confusion. Anyway, yes, it's my understanding that you cannot get an outside, affiliate rakeback setup and still be eligible for the VIP points for cash deal. Whether you still qualify for the daily direct rebate/rakeback is an interesting question.

I am in the VIP program, no outside/affiliate rakeback and I get a small amount (currently 6% for "Earth") credited directly to my account each morning. I think carbon calls it "rebate" (have to pay more attention next time), but its the same thing as getting a small % of rakeback from Carbon without going through an outside affiliate. So I'm not entirely clear on exactly what the options are. Is it....

Affiliate rakeback + Carbon rebate - VIP points for cash or,
NO affiliate rakeback + Carbon rebate + VIP points for cash

It seems to me that that's the options.

Thanks WVH, seems like its...
Affiliate rakeback - Carbon rebate - VIP points for cash
or no affiliate rakeback + carbon rebate + VIP/cash

Yeah but getting RB from an affiliate if available is greater than all but the top tier of Carbon rebate.

It was my understanding that after June 1 none of the Merge sites would allow outside rb deals but if you had it before then you retained it.

This was my understanding, too. But, maybe not. OP says he's still finding a lot of sites that DO offer outside RB for Carbon???????

Just an update.... I got a "cashback rebate" today which was close to, but not exactly (by my calculations anyway) 6% of my rake from the day prior... there could have been something off due to going over midnight but not sure.

So... it looks like you DO get the rebates but cannot exchange points for $$ at Carbon with an outside rakeback deal.... which is pretty nice since at the 1st level that's upping the total rakeback to 41%... higher tiers should increase it further (2nd tier is 7.5% or 42.5% total).

This is a pretty sweet deal. Still don't see how its working for you though. I checked one of those "other" forums that has a Carbon rep and he says that RB no longer exists, but if you already have it you can keep it, but get no rebates through Carbon and can't exchange VIP points for cash.

Anyhow, hope it works out for you, probably too late for anyone who bought into the "there is no more affiliate RB" line though and just signed up into the VIP program. I wonder if other merge skins have VIP + affiliate RB deals?

Yeah it is... I actually did see the the thread you are talking about after the fact and am surprised as well!

I guess I'll feel better once I see my first rakeback payment through my outside provider, however I won't until I finish clearing the bonus... that at least is pretty standard everywhere afaik.

I don't know why sites (several of them!) would still be offering rakeback deals, then allow me to sign up for it and go through the activation process for my account etc etc if it wasn't legit. I emailed carbon support and asked a question about deposits and rakeback and if rakeback wasn't available I'm sure he would have said something different than they did too...

So...as long as that's what's going on that's pretty sweet!!

I was/am a little concerned about this, too. Hopefully everything goes well. Assuming that it does work-out, I hope you'll update us here to let us know. GL.

Anyone get this figured out or confirmed? I am now playing on Carbon and I've had my account for years so I have rakeback. I'm just about to make the first tier, and although I know I can't get cash for points (it even states as much on the VIP page), I am wondering if I'll get the 6% cash rebates. This may be a little less than 6% because as an affiliate (a RB player) you share the costs and just as you gain points at 65% of the normal rate, I imagine the cash rebate would be a little less than 6%.

Either way I'll take it because as a rakeback player there is no other reason to care about or go for any higher teir in the VIP program. If it doesn't give this, the only thing qualifying for the vip program does is give you access to the monthly vip freeroll, well and I guess it says you can get a check for $15 but I doubt you couldn't still get a check if you were not qualified as it's the only way for a US player to cash out.

Anyway, any confirmation appreciated! If not, I should be able to confirm soon! Thanks

As far as I know, no. Still waiting for OP to get back to us if/when he manages to get rakeback + carbon daily rebate. Too late for me since I signed-up through VIP program with the belief that there was no new RB deals anymore. I may explore this a little more on other Merge sites to see if I can find anything similar to deal OP found for Carbon.

I searched around a bit and it looks like the answer is no, at least according to a Carbon rep on another forum. RB players will just get RB, besides qualifying for the freeroll and checks. I'll still update after a day or two to see if I get it now that I've made a vip tier.

One thing the Carbon rep did say is there is supposedly a "side game rebate" which gives you up to 10% of your loses back in the casino games. I actually lost a few hundred when I first deposited a couple weeks ago (like a moron) and did not get anything back. I wrote Carbon support to see what the deal is. Hopefully I can get it, but it wont matter for the future because I blocked the casino. One of the worse things you can do as a poker player imo.

Yeah, we found the same answer at the same forum, but OP still felt he had a deal where he WOULD get RB + Carbon daily rebate. Everything I've read says "no", but we'll see if OP updates us or not.
