Pretty soft. Smallish fields in tourneys, less traffic than major sites, very nice software.

i've played Carbon for a while and though I don't play tourneys all that much (very rarely tbh ) I like the ring games. Usually good play and software is pretty good too. I'd say try it I think you'll like it!!!

Like It

Other than the small number of players and games,

Carbon offers nice graphics and a change of pace from the big rooms.

Offers lots of freerolls including a series of first deposit free tourneys with small fields.

Heard complaints about slow payouts, but I never had a problem. Well, maybe that's because I haven't taken any withdrawals yet. :D

Enjoy

Alot of micro players seem to really like it. I haven't really played all that much on there to be honest & actually just recently added in a few MTT's from there onto my schedule. Play is defintely on the weaker/softer side.

I have a friend who plays the $5 sng's on there & they seem real easy to beat.

As far as the software & graphics, etc. goes.... I don't really like it. Many seem to like the graphics but I find the tables a bit cluttered & distracting. They also are sized a bit differently from the other sites which makes tiling them in with others a bit awkward.

Not sure what the player traffic is like on there (ie. how many tables are open for micro cash... or how long of a wait it is for a 9plyr. SNG... or if they're busy enough that you could easily be playing a handful of them at same time). Also not sure if there are many multi-table SNG's running (smaller sites usually seem to have a hard time filling up the MTT-SNG.. ie. 27plyr. 30plyr, 45's, 90's).

As far as whether it's a good site to play on goes.... I think that'd depend upon what you're looking for in a poker site. I think that for a newer-'ish' player, playing micro limits, Carbon might be a good place to get started (I'll often hear about newer players having decent results on Carbon where they weren't able to do so on some of the other sites).

Carbon poker is a great site, The wait for tables is a bit long sometimes, but great gauranteed tourneys. I also can't complain about the speedy cash out the gave me had a check in about a week.

The interface is tough to see (small fonts and poor choice of contrasting color themes). The level of competition is bad... there are more calling stations here than 2NL at FT (from my experience). The points system is very hard to clear compared to FT because you have to have contributed to the pot in order to get points, plus you only get points for how much you contributed to the pot, not the whole pot. No freebies here.

I like the first depositor freerolls that they offered. A manageable sized field. For me it was generally between 150-180 each time. I managed to make the final table 3x and right off the bat made more than I had deposited.

The one thing I do worry about is how the withdrawal process will go since FT has been having problems.

They actually used this as a selling point a couple of years ago. Something along the lines of 'Why swim with the sharks when you can feed on the fishes'. I remember thinking "Way to alienate your existing customers!":hahaha: .

The player traffic for the sngs on Carbon is not the best. Especially for the 2 dollar games, they take awhile. The biggest sng they have for the 2 dollar games on Carbon I think our the 18 ppl tourneys and I never see it get filled up. The 5 dollar games seem to fill up faster. It seems like there tables are always full though.

I think it's good for sngs. The tournaments need some work on and I think would be better with more guaranteed money relative to the buy in. They also have a vip system that I like.

Just tryin out some tournies on Carbon tonight cos I'm getting destroyed on Full Tilt. The software wouldn't be my favourite but the play is definitely alot softer than either of the big two.

Hopefully I'll be back on later to report a nice big win. Would be nice to find a site that was somewhere between Carbon and FT/PS as regards field size in tournaments cos the fields are pretty small on Carbon.

I've been playing on there for a few days now. On Sunday I was able to enter into a $2 SnG and was ITM. Also did a double or nothing and also cashed. Last night I looked to get into another 9 player SnG but nothing was happening. I was able to get into a ring game with no issues and did quite well last night.

As for the software, I'm not really sold on the color scheme they use. Oh and the sound goes out if I need to use my laptop and remote desktop to my tower so I don't have to stop play. I have to restart the App to get back working. Overall it ok. Not great but not horrible either.

The competition in the micro levels seems to be for the most part split into 2 camps. Either super fishy (VP of 65+) or super nitty (VP < 10). I had one fish immediately to my right who was mocking me for raising preflop after his limp in since he taken the pot post flop twice. Yeah that mocking stopped after he lost over $5 to me. I'll be happy to loose 50 cents and gain over $5 back. My pair of Aces > his pocket Q's. :p
