Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else is still having significant enough problems with Carbon that the site is basically unplayable? First-off, the site is incredibly Laggy now. In the past it was fine. Even more troublesome, though, is that the client itself crashes probably 75-80% of the time before I can even finish a single STT.

Generally, I get an "unrecoverable runtime error", though the numbers are usually different (e.g. not the same error every time). Also, today I got an "out of memory" error for the first time. Really don't know what to do at this point except abandon Merge altogether. Definately NOT a computer geek, so if you have any suggestions please try to make them in a language at least remotely related to commom English.

Right now I guess the plan is to go to that "other" forum that has a Carbon rep and try to get some answers there. Up 'til now I've just been a lurker there, though, so I guess now I gotta register. Still not hopeful.

I´m also having the same problems at Carbon Poker (runtime error and out of memory) the first error is the worst because the software crashes and have to restart.

I've uninstalled and installed the software several times and he always makes a new installation, but the problem continues, i've lost some tournaments because of it.:(

Does anyone know if this problem is only in the Carbon Poker, or is it all software from Merge Network? (Black Chip Poker, Poker Hero, Felt Stars)?

I havent had the runtime error crash, but I have gotten the out of memory error a few times, other than that and the lagging lobby (which was always slow) everything seems to work fine. Though I haven't played today.

I get both errors often on one of my machines but never the other... funny... I'm thinking machine/software (java, etc..) specific incompatibilies somehow? I mentioned this on another thread and got wisecracks when I stated I would look into the differences between my machines and was replied to with "maybe I should wait for the updates to finish..." like I was trying to be a genius and whatnot... So I figured "maybe they're right" and been waiting ever since...:D

Haven't had any errors outside of the HH bug which they are working on.

Anytime I open something up in the client like rakeback, promotions, VIP bonus, etc. it has a runtime error... crashes... the software is sooo laggy... never shows the correct amount of players registered... If it wasn't broke, why fix it?

I have moved to intertops poker and am enjoying the STABLE software and very soft play at the tables.

6.0 A ZERO!

Had the run time error on Black Chip tonight in a tourney when they consolidated tables. Had to reload. The reload also showed players avatars for the first time during the tourney.

Ok guys, thanks for the replies. It appears that there really is no solution at this point except to wait on Carbon/Merge to fix it and/or finish their "upgrade". Yeah, I'm sure they're "diligently working" on that. I mean their upgrade started how long ago now, and they still haven't managed to put out an even remotely playable client.

Since this whole "upgrade" started I've managed to play exactly 2, yes 2, STTs without my machine crashing. I normally play 300-400 a month. At this rate I'll end-up with about 10 this month. Amazing volume.

Anyway, although I really don't want to (just because it's such a pain for US players right now), I've pretty-much decided to begin the process of getting my money off Carbon and finding a new, non-Merge poker home. That's really not my first choice, but at this point I have zero confidence that Carbon/Merge will ever get things working correctly. Really, really well-handled "upgrade", guys. Congratulations. You've taken incompetance to a new level.

I played my usual Tuesday night game last week, the server crashed, three tables had 11 players across them and eventually the game was cancelled.
Jump forward 1 week.
Same game, same time, same players, same software. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. The game ran fine, tables were quick, table changes smooth and we were all commenting on the improvement to the previous week.
I would give it until the month end if possible before making any firm decisions about what to do next. Its frustrating as hell that this so called 'upgrade' has given so many problems, but for now, I just play elsewhere until they do finally get it sorted.

Ok, I cant bitch much - im a micro player but a very loyal one. But I'm close to cashing in 3 tourneys at once and lagg out pocket Aces - sick to my stomach as the timer went out as my all-in click didnt fkn register - that would of clearly put me in the cash maybe deep - I fkn bubbled. Thanks 6.0.

Haven't had any trouble at all with gameplay the past few days.

It's funny how some players have experienced relatively few problems while others can still barely play at all due to stability issues. I've been playing online poker for 5-6 years now, so I've been through a fair number of upgrades. This one is easily the worst. Just serves as a reminder (that we don't need) that US players really have no options as far as playing at a quality, professionally run poker site right now. Thankfully, I just play mostly for fun since BF, but if it was money that I had to rely on I think I'd have already left Merge and would likely not be back.

Horrible. Just horrible. Makes you wonder how much testing they did of this "upgrade" before they rolled it out. Also makes you wonder why there wasn't a plan in place to roll-back the upgrade if it failed miserably (which it has) while they a least got it somewhat workable before they rolled it out again. IMO, just shows that Merge has little consideration for their player base.

I'm not a computer expert, but i did not understand why this upgrade at Carbon Poker has so many errors, the same software was used by Ultimat Bet and Absolute Poker, and whenever i played there, never had problems .. :musicus:

I'm in the same boat. Like I said, I've been through a few upgrades at various sites over the years and I have come to expect a couple bugs/glitches when they are first installed. I've also come to expect them to be cleared-up within a day or two and to have the site back in 100% stable operation soon after the upgrade. How long has this "upgrade" at Merge been going-on now? And, STILL not a playable client. Merge deserves to lose a large portion of their player base over this, imo.

Even before the upgrade, I had trouble. Can no longer do the keyword animated smiley stuff. And there is no longer the info tab where you can see your standing. Can't even access the lobby from the table. Then again, don't play there much anymore. Intend to soon if I can figure out a way to oversome certain issues.

I'm having no current issues with Carbon. Played for a good while last night and it was pretty smooth actually. Don't have anything but the client running. Clear cookies, etc. Update Flash. (Just got an update yesterday). Uninstall and reinstall? Extra memory couldn't hurt. Hope this helps some of you.

Latest Quicktime (v7.7.2) suggestion actually does work, flawlessly, for the Jet Runtime Error 3 crashing...

Sometimes it freezes up entirely (can't browse lobby, can't click any buttons). This happens for 5-10 seconds, then everything is back to normal.

Except...I wasn't able to call a bet with a monster hand a couple of times. Boohoo.

Cash games are fine.

Not in my case. Tried some really micro 6-max the other night. Sat-out to wait for BB before posting. Client crashed 3 times before I got to play a single hand. Don't know what all the issues are, but clearly things still need some work at Merge.
